Louis Chevrolet Driver 1911 Watch
Yes, there is a watch company named after the guy who started Chevrolet - the same GM Chevrolet car maker. American icon Chevrolet has Swiss origins. Louis-Joseph Chevrolet, was a Swiss race car driver that founded along with William Durant the Chevrolet Motor Car Company back in 1911. In just 6 short years it was bought by General Motors. They must have been doing something right!A few years ago the Louis Chevrolet watch company sprouted up in Switzerland. GM was pretty irked about this and the use of the Chevrolet name by the watch company and some legal matters ensued. In the end GM backed down - realizing there was no point fighting a small Swiss watch maker that could only help the automotive brand, not hurt it. As such Louis Chevrolet makes about 1000 watches a year with plans on making up to 5000 a year. Prices for the watches aren't too bad at between about $1000 - $8000 a piece. 5726A grey or white?
I am really fascinated by the 5726.I actually liked the white from the get-go but now have the chance to pick up one with the grey slate dial.I always liked the way the date window merged nicely with the white dial but up until recently I had an impression there was not really too much love for the white dialed 5726.What do you guys think about the long term prospects of retaining value/desireability of grey versus white?I am thinking to snap up the grey and perhaps later trade for a white if I still feel the way I do now...Thanks for your thoughts!

Wait Lists & UK Data Protection
I spoke to an AD here in the UK today about going on a wait list for a no date sub. I was told that I have to come into the branch in person next week as Data Protection Rules now preclude personal info lists (name, telephone, email etc) being kept in any form other than digital. The shop manager also told me that she is contacting all the other people on the list as they are also now required to make an appearance to keep their place.Has anyone else experienced this?

New Arrival (LHD Diver Content)
​I ​was unsure of the size​ of this one​ at first​, 43mm and a hair tall. I went into a local AD as​ I had been eying up ​this one and ​the chrono black bay​. The chrono I passed on as it was a bit too blingy for my tastes​ (I could never get on with the black bay's extra shiny hands and lume plots, they lack the 'depth' of the older rolex white gold surrounds). Also the snowflake hands over subdials seemed like a careless oversight, from a functional point of view. ​I opted for the LHD. I'm not of the camp that calls it a faux patina watch as I think that was not the point, rather the warmer looking lume plots make the watch a little less 'sharp' or edgy and fit nicely with the red pelagos text and beige date wheel. All in all a very well designed and executed watch with some unusual and interesting appointments. It's also very comfortable to wear.​ Keeper? Time will tell...
