Romain Jerome Selfridges DNA Watch
Romain Jerome releases another whimsically themed DNA watch in honor of their new retail partner Selfridges & Co. in London. This nine piece limited edition set is designed in a similar manner to RJ's piece for Only Watch 2011, and proclaims their personal level of importance for the famous English department store.Important retailers often want brands to create special limited edition timepieces just for them. So, RJ took that request seriously and literally made a limited edition just for them. You might think the watch is silly if you have no familiarity with Selfridges but I think it is sort of a funny thing and nod to RJ's sense of humor. The watch is 46mm wide and looks like something out of the movie Tron. The dial is just black with yellow stripes that follow onto the strap. On the back of the watch is a close up map of the part of London where Selfridges & Co. is located - with the store's location bolded out in yellow. The case is a combo of steel and ceramic. If you w
Two Men Bought The Very Same Kind Of Watch On The Same Day In The Same Town, One Paid $950,000 More Than The Other C Who Got The Better Deal?
Here is a question I receive at a frequency of more than three times per week, in person: "How much should I pay for a 5513 Sub?"To answer that question with less than six caveats does the inquirer, and the world of vintage watches, a disservice. For a late 5513 with white gold surrounds, the answer would be one thing. For an early matte dial, another. For a gilt, yet another. For an underline, another. For a military-issued 5513, still another. For an Explorer-dialed piece, yet another. Oh, and any of the above could range from x to x times three for an NOS example with box and papers. You see, the thing with vintage watches is, there is no "market price" for an entire category of watches – and that is the first thing I want new vintage watch lovers to understand. And that is why I am here to tell you about something that happened on November 8th, 2015 in Geneva – to show you just how wild this market is, so that you don't try to make general assump
New Breitling in the collection!
Had a 47mm Chronomat for a brief period but was just a bit too big and I never embraced the polished bezel... After flipping it I have been feeling the void of having a Breitling in the collection, after much research I found an incredible deal on a Chronomat 44 Airborne with Sierra Silver dial. I love the brushed bezel and prefer the more traditional bezel without the space invader font, - turned out to be more of a brushed thing as opposed to polished. Almost went with the Chronomat 44 instead of the Airborne but I am very happy with the arrival today. The size is perfect and is a nice compliment to my 40mm Black Dial Daytona.
Another Seamaster 'Serial No. Question'
I have a MY 2000+ Sea master Chrono, with no serial number at the 7 o'clock position on rear of lug. It was purchased new on the internet, and I am positive its legit. The papers and box were not retained, so I can't use them to validate authenticity, to have serviced or even out up for sale.Any and all help would be greatly appreciated for this perfect condition stainless Sea master.
Best Panerai aftermarket buckles?
Hi everyone,After buying a few aftermarket straps for my Pam's, I would like to buy a few buckles as I have only bought straps without buckles and put the original Pam buckle on them.I would like to buy 3, one in steel, on in titanium and one in PVD-DLC, the last one seems to be harder to find as I don't want a PVD but definitely a DLC, especially my 28 is DLC, and DLC is way harder to scratch.Does anyone know where they have good quality buckles but especially sell DLC one's?If you have any ideas how I could find thanks in advance, as I would like not to have to change buckle every time I change a strap.
