Watches NEWS
AP 3120 accuracy
So I'm curious, my newly acquired runs at ~+9 per day. I guess my grand seiko special hi beat and spring drives are misleading, but what sort of accuracy is reasonable for this movement?
Planet Ocean strap help
I currently have the 45.5 size w/ orange bezel and black rubber strap with the orange stitch.(pic) I was curious if anyone knows how the other straps and bracelets compare. The rubber is extremely comfortable , are the leather straps just as or even more comfortable? How about the steel bracelet? Are the lengths the same? I am currently 2 notches out, so there is not too much room to give.Just wanted to get an overall opinion on the different strap / bracelet options. Thanks for the help !
PP slow/poor? service. Do you just accept it? Is it overblown?
Every brand will have lemons and occasional bad service experiences. That said, even ignoring the Internet, the people I talk to have universally slow experiences with PP service, and a higher rate of problems than I hear about other brands.I know probably 100 Rolex/AP/ALS/JLC owners in real life. Very few complaints overall. I know 10-12 Patek owners in real life, and nearly 100% complain about 8 months or longer for a standard service, watches going back 2-3 times before they give up and just sell them. I know one 9 figure net worth collector who sold all his PP and has completely sworn off the brand entirely.Am I living in some bizarro world with crazy bad luck, or is this the norm and TRF Patek owners just learn to live with it? Are people flipping watches so often they never have to deal with service? There are a number of Pateks I really like, but I'm not looking to spend 6 figures on watches to voluntarily sign up for frustration. Put me at ease or talk me out of PP, please.
First Pam, Should I ?
Hi guys. I never own or think to get one until I see the new Pam 580 all black ceramic. Pretty interesting and would like to add one to my daily rotation. No sure is it the right pam that I'm looking for. Any other suggestion? Thanks
Is there a Daytona SS shortage of supply from Rolex now?
I am guessing that a month or two prior to and up through Christmas that Rolex churns out extra supply of Rolex's including the Daytona. Right now it seems no one is offering a BNIB 116500LN Daytona. Is the next big supply coming toward Father's Day or maybe even Valentine's Day?I do understand supply and demand. Prices just keep going up. I may just opt to buy a 18K white gold Daytona as it seems to be a better value than the ridiculous pricing now for the SS models. It's also interesting how tastes have changed. Seems no one wants to be caught dead wearing a yellow 18K gold Daytona -- although the pricing seems indicative of a buyer's market.
