Alpina Sailing Collection Chronograph
In honor of a new Alpina sponsorship that I could care less about comes a watch that I do care about. Apparently, this one is the first in a "Sailing Collection" of watches made for Sailing. This Chronograph model is a regatta timer - a first, I believe, for the Swiss brand. Regatta timers are used for helping sailors to carefully line up their boats with the beginning of a yacht race. They are, basically, modified 10 minute countdown timers. Unless you are sailing, they are pretty much useless for anything aside from imprecise 10 minute countdowns. The good news is that they are relatively diminutive on the dial and add a fun sense of color. Plus, you get to explain to people who don't own deck shoes what a regatta is.The chronograph is based on a modified SW500 automatic movement that is Sellita's take on the ETA Valjoux 7750. PAM510 Dial?
Hi,So I dropped by a Panerai boutique and they let me try on a lot of the models and was overall very friendly. In particular the PAM00510 looked so good on my wrist I can't get it out of my head. The only thing that put me off was it had a cookie dial.But when I look it up online now, there are PAM510 with the sandwich dials? But the one on Panerai website looks like cookie dial to me as I saw at the boutique. What's going on here?

We'll what an eventful and fruitful day, travelled to our capital city of Cardiff in pursuit of my first choice a seadweller anniversary, if that was not going to be possible,which it became abundantly clear (5 year waiting list at Fraser Hart) then I was prepared to consider the DSSD black or my favourite out of the 2 the DSSD deep blue.After speaking with the dealer at Fraser Hart I enquired about waiting lists for the black and blue only to be told roughly 6 weeks which I was prepared to wait.I along with my good lady attended at Watches of Switzerland and was told a story that was very similar, during my conversation with the dealer Anita, her colleague informed her that a deep blue version was available for me to try, but it was to be purchased tomorrow by someone who had bought a DSSD black whilst the blue was on order, I tried the watch on, fell in love with it, put my name on their list and left the store content with what I was going to eventually purchase.My wife and I went t

About threads of depreciation
I would like to clarify something about the issue of depreciation of watches. I am a private. There is always a great depreciation because the only way we have to sell a watch is to a gray dealer and of course the price we are going to get is much lower than normal. I tried many times to sell my watches that were of great reputation (a Rolex 16610 and a Panerai) and I could never do it because people do not know me and who was going to send me an important amount of money in advance? In all my notices I offered the option of doing the business face to face but it could only interest people who live in my city and that is more difficult.Now the same thing happens to me with a watch that I have and I do not bother to publish it.I clarify that I have always bought an official dealer ... I guess it is different from buying used and can get a good price. But luck depends on that.Regards.
