Close-Up: 5 Tissot T-Race MotoGP Watches for 2015
Tissot, longtime partner of the MotoGP World Championship the Grand Prix of motorbike racing presents its latest collection of Tissot T-Race MotoGP limited edition watches this year. Here’s a look. The collection is comprised of five new watches in total: one with an automatic mechanical movement, limited to 3,333 pieces, another with a quartz movement, limited to 8,888 pieces, and three other limited-edition watches personalized for a trio of MotoGP athletes and Tissot watch “ambassadors,” Nicky Hayden, Stefan Bradl, and Thomas Lthi, each with a quartz movement and packaged in a racing-helmet-themed collectible box.All the new watches have a new, angular case design, with chronograph pushers inspired by the foot rests on bikes and back suspension rods attaching the straps to the cases. The black bezels and magnifying-glass date window are holdovers from Tissot’s previous MotoGP watches. The Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic Limited Edition 2015, with its red-an
URWERK UR-110 ZrN Torpedo Champagne Supernova Watch
While this isn't the all-black UR-110 Torperdo watch from URWERK (that I discussed hands-on here), this is a special limited edition version closer to that with a black coated dial and caseback. The original version was in naked titanium. It looked interesting but many people claimed that it looked a bit unfinished. Eagerly awaiting a black-coated model, URWERK has now presented this UR-110 ZrN Torpedo model to us. The black coated dial does look very nice - especially with its red and electric green elements. Rather than a black case front, it is now titanium coated with Zirconium Nitride (ZrN).The result is a color that looks a bit like champagne. Because of this URWERK calls the watch the Torpedo "Champagne Supernova." With such a lofty title, I do hope that the watch does not live up to its highly destructive name. Imagine the bubbles and pieces of cork being hurled millions of light years in each direction.Limited to just 12 pieces the UR-110 ZrN Torpedo Champagne Supernova will b

Thread Update: 5980 vs 5990
A thread started by RussW in late March of 2014 asked your preference between the two watches. There were comments indicating that, as time went on, the 5990 would be the most liked.Anyone changed his mind? How do you feel about the two watches now?
My first 1950: 320 !!!!
After hours, and hours on this forum -and others - reading about the different options for a GMT in the Panerai family, I finally decided to get the 320. I know it is not a full 24-hour GMT, but I like it much better than the PAM 88 for several reasons:- 1950's case.- In House movement.- Cleaner dial.- Hide-away GMT hand while not traveling.- And the most important one: Ability to change the LOCAL time in 1 hour increments without having to stop the movement.I would have been happy with the 88 if I had been able to move the local hour without stoping the movement, but in the 88, it is the GMT hand that moves in 1-hour clicks without hacking, which for me, didn't make much sense while traveling.I just got it today, BNIB, in all its glory. It is a hefty watch. After trying it at a local dealer earlier in the week, I was a little concerned about it being a little top heavy, and a little larger than I am used to (my daily watch is a 42mm Rolex Explorer II). But after I put it on,
