3rd Year Warranty
Hey guys,I believe this was the first 41mm ROC on the forum and, since time's flown by since the 40th anniversary, it's time to send it in for water testing to get that 3rd year warranty. So what's the opinion these days on:(1) whether one should send it straight to Clearwater VS take it to the AP Boutique to send it in (I live very close to a Boutique, so no hassle there -- but heard stories of scratches happening).(2) do you guys generally get a refinishing done at this ~2 year mark? I don't have any highly noticeable marks, but I'd like to get it refinished if it were just an issue of money, but I don't want to be too wasteful of the limited number of refinishings before bezel/case replacement is needed. Thanks,
Any Omega guys have any experience with this model?
I've always been on the fence about Speedmasters until today, I tried this on and fell in love!! The weight, stainless bezel, etc. The smaller LE would be nice but I can't wean a 38.5. This watch was perfect! Any pics or experiences with any 57s?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Omega PO 2500
Hi everyone,With the new PO being released, will there be any worries getting service or parts 30 years down the road as the website says they will guarantee service for 20 years upon it being discontinued. I know it's a ridiculous question, but is it stupid of me to try and get rid of this watch and get the new one? Just thinking down the road when I hand it off to my kids. Thanks
Oooops, I did it again!!!!
Some time in late September, I decided to step out of my Panerai and Rolex shell and go for a sporty Patek. I was fortunate to have all the fellow Patek owners here who gave some very valuable inputs. In came this beauty:She was stunning and the blue dial, absolutely mesmerizing. The 5711 was like a piece of art that is ready for the Guggenheim museum. On the other hand, it was also dressy, classy and just Pierce Brosnan like cool! However, I am no Pierce Brosnan. I am mostly a jean and t-shirt guy and according to my wife, goofy. The thinner 5711 case along with the sharp and dressy feel and I just did not jive. 5711 maybe perfect for most, unfortunately, it was not for me. 5167 is also out of the picture since the case is about the same thickness as the 5711 and a tad too thin for my taste. Thus, the choice was simple. I wanted a rubber sporty look in a slightly thicker case and 5164 has it all. For me, this is the perfect blend of form, vs. functionality, a sporty kick a
Why Rolex Matters....
Not sure if this has been posted yet...I stumbled upon it earlier this evening. Most of us on this site are hobbyists. WIS if you will..We fret over the flaws and quality of our watches. Is the new Pepsi the right colors? etcWe pontificate over what the market is up to and why we can ONLY buy Datejusts and not SS Daytonas when we visit the Rolex AD...I am very guilty of this.We are a very select group in the watch world, with highly focused opinions and interests. This is what Rolex means to rest of the world.and yes...it's a just a Datejust, but it wasn't to him and certainly not to others. https://.nytimes/2018/03/16/s...FVKqaQodUaEFCA
