The Everyday Oris F1 Day Date Watch
There are some watches that are art, and some that are technical marvels but we are talking about neither of those today. Today we are talking about a high quality and comfortable every day watch that should be in every "normal" watch guys collection. The Oris F1 Day Date is a marvelous watch that is impossible not to love. The watch is available on both a nice metal bracelet or an exceptional rubber strap, and in my opinion one of the nicest rubber bands you will find at this or any price level. The rubber band is soft yet never losses it's shape and unlike less refined bands, is slightly scented with vanilla so the foul smell of wet rubber will never be on your watch or arm.The case and face have multiple color combinations anywhere from blue on sliver to completely blacked out with a black face and black PVD case, some orange and red are thrown in for good measure. As a casual watch collector, you'll have no problem finding a color combination you'll want to wear every day. The case
Paul Newman Speedy
I finally gave my Speedy a Paul Newman / panda conversion. I replaced the black dial with a silver dial (with black subdials); the white with silver hour minute hands; and the white with an orange sweeper (thought about doing a black sweeper, but I think the orange really pops); I left the white subdial hands the same. I got all the parts from Otto Frei's place in Oakland. Here are the before and afters, let me know what you guys and gals think:Omega.jpgPanda.JPG
Patek 5067A (Women's)
Hi all,Can one of you help me out-what's the new retail (post reduction) of the 5067A?Thanks as always!
Radiomir on a Luminor Rubber Strap
I recently picked up a PAM 512 as my daily:The 512 is perfect to me. The P.999 movement is ultra slender so it sits perfectly on my tiny wrists and the 42mm size is on point. A weird part of me really wanted the Radiomir look on a typically-Luminor OEM rubber strap. Thoughts? Am I crazy? Purists, don't hate me!
I may be in the minority, but the 36mm Day-date is perfect.
I have been a Rolex lover, admirer, and owner for over 25 years. While I like and appreciate the newest DD 41, There is something just perfect about the proportions of the original DD 36. I haven't owned one, but would like to own one someday. While out running last-minute Christmas errands, I saw one on the wrist of a fellow shopper and just thought to myself, Man that watch is what started my love affair all those years ago. To me, the DD 36Represents the pinnacle of Rolex. Merry Christmas.
