Hands-On: The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Ultra-Thin With Caliber 1120
This is a watch we loved a lot when we went hands-on with it at the SIHH. It’s part of the refreshed Overseas line of watches, and while it’s the sort of thing one expects from Vacheron Constantin, it’s still so nicely done and so well rooted in VC’s history that it rises above merely fulfilling expectations, and becomes something worth celebrating. 1 OF 6 The Overseas Ultra-Thin immediately struck us as reminiscent of the Vacheron Constantin 222, from the 1970s, which was along with watches like the Royal Oak and the Nautilus, part of the first generation of stainless steel watches with an integrated bracelet. All three watches, incidentally, were driven by the same movement: the Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 920, which was the result of a development project that involved Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, and Patek Philippe. Does anyone here prefer the steel roc to the rose gold roc on bracelet?
HI, just curious if anyone here prefers the look of the look of the steel roc to the rose gold roc? regardless of pricing.. My thinking is even though the gold is incredible feel and weight on the wrist its not really an everyday watch and probably very fragile especially with the gold bracelet?
What did I just do?
An email, some hard negotiating, online wire, and a FedEx tracking...Maybe my last one for the year as wellThanks enablers

What are we really paying for?(Apologies, if this is an 'old chestnut' of a post).But. I was wondering how many of us here, actually use the added functions of our Rolexes? From the Submariner and it's various depth ratings to the Sea Dweller & DeepSea's incredible specifications. (I have read that only 2% of wearers of 'Divers Watches' can actually swim). How many of us, wearing a Yachtmaster, GMT, Daytona, Milgaus ,et al, make use of their full capabilities?I have travelled across various time zones and found it easier to change the position of the hands on my GMT, rather than figure out the correct, relevant position of the bezel etc. So. What ARE we paying for, beyond a reliable, sturdy movement in a nice, tight case? Are all those extra, albeit, beautifuly designed and sculpted features just a personal fashion/style statement? I suppose I've just answered my own question! There will be many amongst us on this BRILLIANT, helpfull, knowledgeable and friendly forum that, sail yachts,
