Brand Highlight: Ball Watch
The Ball Watch company is one rooted in history and tradition,?dating back?to the late 1800’s. ?Webb C. Ball, the company’s founder, was the first jeweler to?adopt?standard time measurement in all of his pocket watches and later in life was responsible for the standardization of time measurement throughout the watch manufacturing world. ?Today, Ball Watch has?maintained?a significant presence in the watch landscape, through superbly designed mechanical watches, with unique styling to match their?historical?roots. The story behind the founding of Ball Watch is actually quite interesting. ?In the late 1800’s, Webb C. Ball was a jeweler working in Ohio, known for his innovation within the watch manufacturing industry by applying?standard time?to his watches. ?In 1891, after a?devastating?train crash?between?the ?Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway, Ball was instituted as the Chief Time Inspector?for the rail lines, and soon after instituted a standard time measuremen
Audemars Piguet Square Royal Oak from the 80s-90s - info or opinions?
Hello All,I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight regarding my most recent purchase. I was specifically looking for an 80s watch and it doesnt get more 80s than this (square/angular style, two tone, and quartz). Although I was looking for a vintage thunderbird/turnograph or datejust from this time period, when i saw this, i let my impulse get the best of me.From my research, all I could gather is that this seems like a newer square royal oak because it has a date feature (might actually be from the 90s maybe?). But I dont know the model number or anything else. If someone can chime in with more information, that would be great. The only thing written on the watch is the serial number on the back. Also, feel free to let me know what you guys think about this watch. It is kinda dated, but I find it very unique and intriguing.Collectors say to avoid vintage quartz watches. But avoiding quartz watches is basically ignoring the 70s and 80s i'd say.

quest about screwed chrono pushers.
Hi guysI wanted to ask the following questions about the screwed-in chrono pushers of the Omega Seamaster series (the Bond ones and the PO) :1). Does one have to un-screw to use the pushers?2). If one doesn't have to unscrew the chrono pushers, does that mean that the chrono functions are active at the rated depths i.e. 300m for the seamasters and 600m for the PO?3). Is the operating mechanism and procedure the same for the PO and the seamaster? ( i.e. unscrewing the oushers before using the rated depth of use etc)thanks a lotregards,Asad Abbas Awan
