Frdric Jouvenot S?n Watch
The?Frdric Jouvenot S?n watch enters that extremely limited?group of independent timepieces that?try and find?new ways to?animate and display astronomical indications. To do that, it takes inspiration from none less than S?n,?the Mesopotamian god of the moon. Let's take a look at?some of the key details of this unusual piece, which will debut at?Baselworld 2015.The centerpiece of the S?n, without a doubt, has to be its highly unusual?sun-moon display. What we're looking at here is effectively a 3D day/night indicator C to get a better idea on how it works, ?check out the video above and?see it in action. The passing time is?recorded by centrally-mounted hands (the hour hand is referred to as "eccentric" as it appears to float above a silver colored ring surrounding?the minute hand). My First Grail Watch: Ariel Adams Of watches-dealer
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we've got an interview that's - well, let's call it a belated birthday present for the interviewee.?We're speaking with the man, the myth, the legend - watches-dealer's founder, Ariel Adams.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Ariel Adams (AA): My name is Ariel Adams, and you may have heard of me. I am the founder of watches-dealer and discuss watches in publications all over the world.ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?AA: I became a "watch guy" when I was about 20 years old, but looking back at my history, I've worn a watch on my wrist since early childhood - sometimes two of them.ABTW: What was your first grail watch?AA: That would go back many years, to the 1980s. The first watch I ever recall really wanting and didn't have
Sooo, where to go to find an AP?
Hey guys! Had a question for you....I live outside of Pittsburgh, PA and wondered if you had any advice on where to go to browse/try on some AP watches. As far as I know, there isn't anywhere close to me. Should I tie this in to a trip to NYC? Any advice? Thanks in advance!
Need your opinions!
I am about to pull the trigger for a third watch. I currently have an AP 15400 Blue dial and Ebel 139 Tekton. (You are probably questioning why would he even have an Ebel in the collection? Because I received as a gift).I narrowed down my choices to Rolex Daytona white face, Rolex Submariner LV, Pre-owned AP Diver, or IWC Ingenieur. I will appreciate your inputs!
New to me 2220.8
My first real timepiece! A buddy of mine has been eyeing another watch for a while now and decided to get rid of this to help fund it. I was saving up for a PO, but the price was too good to pass on. The crystal is in perfect shape, but the band could use some polishing. No biggie. I absolutely love this watch! Sorry, pic isn't too great.
