Breguet Classique 5157 Charity Watch Auction On eBay
How much over retail do you think this Breguet Ref. 5157 watch will go fetch for charity? With a retail price of $16,200 the 18k gold Breguet watch is currently on eBay awaiting January 9th, 2011, when the auction will end. The proceeds are said to go to the New York Philharmonic's School Partnership Program. When the money is eventually delivered, the children who attend schools that benefit from charity will no doubt be shocked to have received money from a man that died almost 200 years ago.The charity sets up music education programs at New York City schools. Pretentious men and women (with fine watches) travel to underprivileged social institutions and set up "scared straight" style lectures to youth. "This man never listened to orchestra music and now he is in jail - life with out parole. Do you want that to be you?" On the other hand, this guy over here practiced piano for seven years, became an account, and now owns a Lexus hybridAnd guess which of them knows what a Breguet is!
Last Chance To Enter For Free Swatch Automatic Chrono Watch Giveaway
The holidays are more or less over, the gifts have been given - perhaps a few left dangling "in the mail" somewhere - but few surprises are left. Did you get the watch that you wanted? Did you even ask for it? My philosophy is that unless someone knows exactly what you want (and where to get it), watch lovers should not be given gifts by non watch lovers. You know how it goes. "The sales person at Macy's said you'd love it..." (cringe).Well you can still be surprised and get a change to win this lovely new Swatch Automatic Chrono "Simply Pure" model watch. I have it here just eager to get on someone's wrist. It is so lonely sitting in it's chic box. I did a review of a different Swatch Automatic Chrono watch, the "Silver Class" here - that is part of the same new collection of timepieces. Remember that is has a new ETA automatic mechanical chronograph movement inside of it. Retail price is $370. The drawing ends on December 31, 2009. Go out with a bang for the decade. How about some Speedmaster wrist shots please?
The Speedmaster is quickly becoming one of my most desired watches. I dont think any other watch has both the history and mystique of the Speedy. What is more epic than going to the moon after all? How about some wrist shots !? They are hard to come by it seems. Its such a popular timepiece and I cant seem to find many shots of it on the wrist online. Im going later in the week to try one on myself at a local AD, its been a couple of years since I tried one on for size. Until then wet my appetite !
Question re buying w/o b&p on specific models..
So I have a question regarding buying certain models without box and paper. Specifically, the Kermit and 16710 Pepsi. As we know, both can be easily faked. A 16610 with a real or aftermarket green bezel is easy to do as is a 16710 Coke or LN with a Pepsi bezel. Other than having Rolex look up the serial during a service or something to that effect, how else would you know that it's a legitimate born as Kermit or Pepsi?I see several no B&P Kermits and Pepsi for sale here. I've also see a Pepsi for sale where it actually had the papers and it was marked R16710N30 (which means it's a all black GMT) and the seller was selling it as a Pepsi. When quizzed, they feigned ignorance and said that's how they bought it and didn't question it.I mean what's stopping someone from buying a correct era, run-of-the-mill no b&p 16610 for $5-6K, buying a Kermit bezel and then selling for $10K? When/if the buyer finds out, just say oh that's I got it, I didn't ask questions.?I know with the Kermit
