Marvin Sebastian Loeb World Rally Champion Watch
The wait is over and the Sebastian Loeb watch by Marvin is here. Loeb is a World Rally Champion race driver. I saw some concept art for the watch early on, and now the final piece has been released (actually there will be two models). Following a tradition of many race themed timepieces, the Loeb watch spins a new yarn on the idea of a timepiece linked to the world of motor sports. The piece looks as though it was made from miniature parts taken right out of a rally car parts pin. An interesting mixture of concepts to yield a piece that tasteful but visually indicative of its cause. As Loeb is a rally car champion driver, the watch pays homage to timepieces in this range. The most noticeable design element is the "shock absorber" springs on lugs that actually to function as part of the system that "wraps" the straps around your wrist. I was told that from the start Loeb wanted springs in the watch somehow, and it was a challenge for designers Sebastian Perret and Jean-Francois Ruchonnet
John Mayer On Watches: The Five Best Buys In Vintage Rolex, For $8,000 Or Less
“No more than eight thousand.” That’s the answer I always get when I ask a prospective vintage Rolex buyer what their price range is. Always Eight. Five isn’t enough to work with, and ten – well that’s just so… ten.I’ve helped so many of my friends and colleagues buy watches that are within the $8,000 range that I thought I’d share some of my recommendations with you. Take advice from a guy with a roll of mistakes he bought at the airport on a layover, me.John Mayer Obviously, you’re not making a mistake if you buy that new Panerai Luminor you’ve had your eye on, but it is a mistake if you buy one and then wish you’d been turned on to the unmistakable cool of a vintage Rolex earlier. Take it from a guy with a roll of lessons he bought at the airport on a layover. Here are five vintage Rolex references under $8,000, and why I believe they’re the best buys on the market. 1. Help! Deciding which watch.
Hi all, would like to ask you all for some advice on which watch to get. I currently own vintage Rolexs, a 5164a, and a 114060. I do not wear my vintage Rolexs and I only wear the 114060 and the 5164a. I have had a few other watches, but I don't see me buying them again, with the exception of a 1680, 114270, and the 15400. My feeling is that with my two watch combo, it can handle pretty much all situations I'd be in. I do not need a dress watch as I am pretty much jeans or khakis and t-shirt 365. I'd like to ask you all if I should get a 15202, 26470, or the 26400 and the reasons as to why. My wrist size is 7, not flat nor round. Thanks in advance!
Practical advice appreciated.
ChapsI have acquired 5 Rolex over the last 3 years and the honest truth is that I would like to finish off the collection with a Patek Philippe.I am currently attracted to the 5396G purely on appearance and also I want to go down the annual / perpetual calendar route and this brings me to my main question. Also please bear in mind that my technical knowledge of PP is below average. The question is - Are there any practical differences in owning either a perpetual or annual calendar watch. For instance is there much difference in setting up the time / date etc between the two and also are there different maintenance issues. Also any are there any pros and cons of owning either of these. Also is there any problems with buying the older models ?Due to my lack of knowledge I will probably buy from an established retailer but any advice on this would be appreciated. I am, incidentally, based in the UK.RegardsMick
