Interview With Division Furtive Watches Founder
At the time of writing this,?Division Furtive?is one of the more unique watch projects over on Kickstarter. Its founder, French Canadian Gabriel Menard, designed the Type 40 and Type 46 models to be original, a bit crazy, and pretty cool. One model is more affordable while the higher-end Type 46 is closer to the original vision that the piece was supposed to be. watches-dealer speaks with Menard to discuss Division Furtive, and what these interesting watches - with their most unexpected features - are all about.watches-dealer (ABTW): What is Division Furtive and why would watch lovers pay attention to what you are doing?Gabriel Menard (GM): I've created Division Furtive with a simple guideline in mind: doing small and limited production runs. Most designers will find most satisfaction in their work when their products go mainstream. From my experience doing exactly that and also because I think watches are very personal items, I found it was more attractive to work on smaller productio
LUM-TEC Watches With Brighter Than Super Luminova, "MDV" Luminant Now On Sale
Here is a new American based watch maker that is worth a look. They have something special that makes them stand out a bit more than other new brands. LUM-TEC has a special type of luminant that they claim is at least three times brighter than Super Luminova, the luminant that is applied on most Swiss watches with illuminated hands and indexes. Instead, LUM-TEC has apparently been working on this new type of luminant that they have been applying to customized watches for a while. Now they've taken all their expertise to release a growing line of sharp look, good value watches. These aren't mechanical watches, but it is a good start for the company. Prices are all well under $400 ($315 for the M3 and $365 for the M4 model), and you get a lot for your money. chronograph movements, high grade 316L steel cases, sapphire crystals, and of course the LUM-TEC luminant. Two of their watches are finally shipping, with many more on the way soon. The are the M3, and its PVD coated sibling, the M4.

Gents, this is my first post within the Omega section of this great Forum.I have been the proud owner of a red Schuey for the past 4 years and I really like the watch.I am now trying to aquire a 3513.33 as I love the look and texture of the face.I have placed a WTB post but I would also be very greatfull if any of you fine fellows have any knowledge of one that may be available at this time.Kindest regards,Colin Leask.
Authentic Panerai Strap advice needed
Wanted some help here.I wanted the JV strap for my 512, but they don't make it. I can have one custom from Panerai but they charge 100 over retail and then 6 weeks to make. I found something very similar and wanted to know if anything is off. It looks legit to me but want to confirm. Any help appreciated.
Wearing Rolex during hydrotherapy?
My wife and I are going to be heading to Whistler, Canada for a few days of R&R next month. If you haven't been to Whistler I highly recommend it. We usually go to a beautiful Spa nestled in the mountains for a massage and to enjoy the hydrotherapy pools. I'm not one of those guys that needs to know if I can get my Rolex wet, but I do have a question about the extreme and sudden temperature changes to my watch during hydrotherapy. I generally only travel with one watch and I'm not comfortable leaving it in the hotel. I don't mind swimming with my watch or wearing it while at the spa but going straight from the cold pools (~50 degrees F) directly to the hot pools (over 108 F) over and over again can't be good for the seals right?I have heard the general rule of thumb tossed around that a Rolex can handle anything you can, and my experience has been that this is true. But I've never taken it with me in these types of situations so I thought I'd ask the group for some advice or person
