See Us Learning To Build Watches This Week #fcwatchweek
Today I will be flying to Geneva to learn how to make a watch and one of you is joining me. If you recall, back in December 2012, our monthly giveaway was for either a Frederique Constant (or Alpina) watch, and the grand prize was a trip to Geneva to build your own watch and take it home with you. Well, now our grand prize giveaway winner, Mr. Andrew E. and I will be fulfilling the experience at the headquarters of Frederique Constant this week. This will be the first time either of us will build a watch. Frederique Constant boasts some nice in-house designed and produced movements, and we will get guidance from their top watch makers. One of them will be the talented Pim Koeslag, who also produces the watches for Frederique Constant's very high-end DeMonaco brand.During the week, our team will be sharing updates from the manufacture mostly on the watches-dealer Facebook page, Twitter, as well as on the watches-dealer Instagram feed. Note that we will be using the tag #fcwatchweek if yo
Frederique Constant Trip & Watches Giveaway Winners
Last month in December of 2012 we brought to you what we feel was the coolest giveaway ever - a trip to Geneva to build your own Frederique Constant or Alpina watch, and also a choice of Frederique Constant or Alpina watch for two second prize winners. I personally was amazed by the substance of the giveaway comments. They are charming, passionate, emotional, and full of watch love. You can?read the many comments on the giveaways page here. Because you'd all like to know, here are the winners:The first prize winner who will travel to Geneva and build a watch is Mr. Andrew E. of Indiana. The second prize winners who will get new Frederique Constant watches are Mrs. Carolyn H. of Georgia and David B. of California.Congrats to them, and don't forget to enter for this month's Xetum Tyndall watch giveaway.
My Topman Smart Futurist Analogue Watch Article On AskMen.com
This was admittedly a tough watch to talk about. Unlike the Timex Classic Camper ($35), this Topman Smart Futurist Analogue watch is not a little beater watch dedicated to function, but rather a $40 fashion watch with more fashion backwards relevance than anything else. As a watch, there was not too much to talk about. Case and quartz movement with quirky looks? Not much material there. Instead the piece is a commentary on the design, and what I think it all means. So check it out.See my Topman Smart Futurist Analogue watch article on AskMenwatches-dealer here.
