Romain Jerome Moon Orbiter Tourbillon Watch
The Moon Orbiter watch is completely out of this world and that is just how Romain Jerome likes it. I was sitting with Romain Jerome's CEO recently in Las Vegas while we sipped on drinks as we was going through the final testing of the Moon Orbiter whilst wearing it on his wrist. There wasn't too much Vegasy about it, but it did look as though his wrist was an alien world landing site for a strange new watch. Roman Jerome unveiled it to me last year as a prototype - and I was impressed with the novel space watch that included an automatic flying tourbillon movement and new case design. If Vianney Halter's Deep Space Tourbillon?wasn't enough Star Trek watch for you then once again you have a nod to the popular sci-fi genre with a tourbillon that looks less than coincidentally like the Starship Enterprise. Everything else about the watch is meant to combine the brand's love of space in their Moon Dust DNA and Moon Invader collection, as well as extend the sci-fi theme we recently saw in t
My newest addition - back to Omegas for a little while
Funny, my family has always been an Omega family. Dad, Uncles, Cousins all seem to gravitate towards Omega. I had a Seamaster Pro five years ago but since have been into a variety of Rolex, Breitling and others. Until Sunday when I picked this up from a fellow forum member and I have to say, amazing! Hopefully some of the troubling stories about the watch do not come to frution, but for now, I am blown away!Have a great New Years Everybody!
Rolex GMT V Omega GMT
I dont know enough about watches to say anything technical, but these are two great watches. The Rolex GMT II Pepsi is a stone classic. The Omega Seamaster GMT is a classic in waiting.Lol X and Perdu have both done great reviews of the Omega recently, so I will just add a couple of my own observations.....Bezel....Rolex wins easily. Both in the colour combo and ease of use. That coin edge bezel will never be bettered !Lume...Omega wins by a street. I was always surprised at how poor the lume was on both my Rollies. Now I've got an Omega I can actually see the time in the dark as well.Date feature....I loath and detest the Rolex cyclops, so its a fantastic change to see the date without having to angle the cyclops just right.Size and weight....the Omega is slightly bigger (41.5mm to 40mm) and heavier than the Rolex. This is no bad thing, but is not really a factor one way or the other. Its only when you place them side by side that you really notice it.Caseback.....the engraved caseback on t
Patek 5164A: Day/Night Indicator
Hi folks,I would like to check with current Patek 5164A owners, does your Day/Night indicator change colour (e.g from white to dark blue or vice versa) exactly at 6am/6pm?My new Patek 5164A seems to only start changing the colour of the Day/Night indicator starting from around 6am/6pm. The process would take about an hour or so to completely change the colour in the Day/Night indicator (e.g from white to dark blue or vice versa). Is this normal? In the Patek owner's manual, it only states the following:The day/night indicator in the round aperture at 3 o'clock (HOME) lets you check whether you have set the correct time (white stands for the daylight hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., black for the night time hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.).Hope current owners can help to shed some light on this and this is my first Patek watch. Many thanks in advance.
Tudor black bay leather strap?
Hi, I am looking at a few used blue black bays but they are on natos or bracelets. Does anyone know how much the Tudor distressed blue leather strap with clasp is running? Thanks.
