Brown Chronos Safe: Secure Watch Home
You are a man of taste and means. Where do you keep your stuff? Luxury consumers often embark on an "acquisitional journey," starting with simple-to-desire items such as expensive clothes and cars, to more exclusive items such as boutique shoes and watches. Given that there is a market for every taste and every need, this path to possessions fortunately (or unfortunately) never ends. Don't you feel better knowing that there is someone, somewhere thinking about producing that next thing you don't even know you need until they help you discover it? The world just keeps offering cool stuff to consume. Each person with means and the items it purchases needs a safe place to store their loot. With the help of Brown Safe Manufacturing and the knowledge I have acquired over the years, I would like to explore the infrequently discussed topic of how to keep your valuables safe from damage and theft.Safes have been around for a long time. The Value Proposition: The Meistersinger Salthora Meta Jump-Hour C Single Handed Serenity
There are a lot of different ways to start a watch company. You can scour history books for the name of a distinguished watchmaker to appropriate (hurry though, the pool of respectable ones is shrinking fast.) You can come up with some exotic mechanism that has a lot of novelty appeal, but which may or may not actually hold anyone's interest after the first five minutes have passed. You can resurrect one of the casualties of the Quartz Crisis, and trade on borrowed good will created by a company that sold its last watch before the 1969 Astron was a gleam in Seiko's eye. 1 OF 5 Or, you can do something that's pretty rare: create interesting, well-thought-out designs that actually appeal to your customer's intelligence, instead of playing on their ignorance. (It is said that a fool and his money are soon parted, but building a business empire on this cynical truism seems a spiritually debased way to make a living.) In this small, elite group of firms is cult
Watch magnetized at airport??
Following a recent business trip to Europe, I found that one of my watches began running fast, really fast. I carried 4 watches on my trip, Rolex Sub Ceramic (which I wore on my wrist on the airplane and through all security points) and a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony, Patek Philippe 5146G Annual Calendar and AP 15202ST in a watch roll that was put through the x-ray machines. After returning from this trip, my VC was running fast by about 1 minute per day. The rest were running fine. I took the watch in to VC today and they confirmed that the watch was magnetized and was running 1 minute/day fast. Fortunately, they were able to demagnetize it free of charge and it is running within spec again. They suggested that the most probably culprit was going through security at the airport. Has anyone experienced this before? Where a watch got magnetized and began keeping erratic time? I am curious why it was only the VC that was magnetized (the AP Jumbo is also an ultra-thin movement) an
