Welcome letter after registeration
Question: Do you get a welcome letter from Patek every time you register a new watch? I got one for the first two, but not for the third and I am just wondering if this is unusual.
I don't like Patek Philippe's slogan
While I am a keen admirerer of the watches that Patek Philippe craft (some of the most beautiful watches ever to see the light of day), I can't help but feel frustrated by their famous slogan You never actually own a Patek Philippe, you merely look after it for the next generation. Sure, most people recognize it so seen from that perspective it does its job. However, it is of my persuasion that once I purchase a watch of this calibre, it is mine to keep. It is in my possession, meaning that I can do whatever I want with it. I can smash it with a hammer, throw it in a lake or give it to a random stranger. It is MY watch, I'm not just a temporary keeper of it. How do you feel about it?
Incoming "sort of"
So I have been looking online at the PAM00687 that will be released soon and deciding how I feel about it. I have been wanting to pick up a Radiomir to go with my 422 and I love the dial on the 687. I am not sure how limited this watch is going to be or what the demand will be but I never have any luck landing hard to get pieces despite spending decent money with my AD. Today I put in a call and to my surprise I was the first to inquire about the watch and with a 20% deposit was able to secure the watch that they say I should get sometime in March! The other thing that is pretty cool is they will order it in with a long strap, this is great news since the standard size strap on my 422 was to short to use. Anyone else going to be getting one of these? I was a little on the fence but now that I know I am getting one I am totally happy and $9800 price tag seems reasonable.
So how many straps is enough for one Panerai??
Curious how many straps is enough for a single Panerai watch????? As far as color and style, how many will cover all the looks from rugged casual, diving, to black formal?? I am starting with multiple buckle shapes and colors that will work into a strap system of different colors and textures. As much as passion leads to a strap purchase, I want to at least have a plan of attack to logically put together a system.
