Grieb & Benzinger Create Unique Skeletonized Chronograph “The Blue Wave”
Grieb & Benzinger’s workshop has created a unique piece for the discerning collector, called The Blue Wave. The 46mm rose gold piece features a rare Minerva monopusher column wheel chronograph movement created circa 1925. The movement has been hand skeletonized, hand engraved, and hand guillochd in the Grieb & Benzinger style, resulting in a deeply-textured three-dimensional space that draws and holds the eye. In its heyday, Minerva was one of the finest chronograph makers in the world. They were among the first to incorporate a minute counter. Minerva named its company after the Roman goddess. Traces of this Roman deity can be found again and again in fine watchmakingeven A. Lange & S?hne has immortalized the goddess on its most exclusive pocketwatch cases.Grieb & Benzinger’s typical blue platinum coating of the base plate has found its way into this new unique piece. The base plate was first hand-skeletonized to its barest minimum in characteristic wave
Beware, 'The Beast' on C24
I have been looking on c24 for a AP ROO 'the Beast' ie with the original blue dial...Saw this at a good price, looked nice at first glance on the mobile -then I spotted it, can you?.chrono24.se/audemarspigue...-id4155377.htmWatch itself might be kosher but when you put an AP back like that you are not an official AP watchmaker....
Help me decide: P.O. 42 vs. SMP 2054.50
I am flip flopping every few minutes on this. The Planet Ocean 42 is my favorite watch but I can't seen to find a 2201.50 for sale at a reasonable price ($2500 budget). Meanwhile there are several 2054.50's available right now for just north of $1500. Should I just get the SMP and be done with all this?
