Jennifer Hudson and Gucci Introduce New Grammy Museum Watch at L.A. Event
On February 11, on the eve of the 2012 Grammy Awards, Gucci Timepieces presented the third in its limited-edition Grammy collection of limited-production watches at a special event at the Grammy museum in Los Angeles an event that also featured a live performance by Oscar and Grammy winner (and Gucci fan) Jennifer Hudson. The watch, called the I-Gucci Museum Timepiece, joins its predecessors, the I-Gucci Grammy in yellow-gold PVD and the I-Gucci Latin Grammy in rose-gold PVD, all of which were designed by Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini. The new model has a large, 49-mm case in polished gray PVD, with the inscription GRAMMY Museum Gucci Limited Edition on the bezel and the Grammy Museum logo on the caseback. It has a Swiss quartz movement that offers a range of functions, including a digital time and dual-time-zone display (with an analog display option also available for the local time), a chronograph, countdown timer, tachymeter, pedometer and regatta timer for sailing. I posted a WTB elsewhere recently for an Omega X-33 or a Breitling B-1, thinking that either would be perfect for a forthcoming trip to NY (and would in any event serve a purpose thereafter). I decided against the X-33 for various reasons, but before I could unearth a B-1 I was offered a nice minty Aerospace Evo and decided to take the plunge. I have to say that I'm glad I did.The Evo is the largest Aerospace yet at 43mm, but it still retains both it's legendary comfort and it's lightness as a consequence of being titanium. Other changes are a slightly different handset (a half-lumed hour hand and a needle minute hand), re-styled rider tabs and a little more bling in the applied logo and numerals. On the wrist (and away from the bright glare of my lights), however, it seems almost understated and certainly doesn't shout too loud. The size is fine on my 6.75 wrist - bear in mind that the wrist shot is taken at close quarters with a wide-angle lens - but I certainly wouldn't want to go a

Thinking of purchasing Panerai Luminor Marina PAM 005
Hi folks, I have been informed by local Panerai AD that they will sell me a PAM 005 Luminor marina logo version for $4,690.00 plus tax... Now I know MSRP is around $5300 and especially with increase in franc, AD is recommending I take the deal before price goes up... Is this fair price? I believe it is great deal I just want to confirm with you guys. And do you think price of Swiss watches will go up? Thanks any advice would be greatly appreciate it... New GMT in Paris
I just pulled the trigger on my second Rolex. Three days ago I saw a 116710LN brand new at the Rolex boutique in the Saint Germaine area. They had just got it in that morning and rather than pull the trigger I decided to think about it. Went back this morning to purchase it and it had sold. Walked out mad at myself for not pulling the trigger. My wonderful wife said call around. I started calling all the other dealers in Paris with no luck. On the last call to Wempe we were in luck. Gave them my name and rushed over in the pouring rain. They had received the watch yesterday morning and it was still in it's shipping package. Pulled the trigger on the spot. Here is a pic of it at the louvre.
