Carl F. Bucherer’s Patravi EvoTec DayDate Gets an Update
In 2008 Carl F. Bucherer achieved Manufacture status with the introduction of the CFB A1000 automatic winding movement with a peripheral rotor that combines the technical values of the central rotor with the visual advantages of the micro-rotor. The EvoTec DayDate is now available in a cushion-shaped case with a new steel bezel. Find wallpaper and pricing inside. Beyond the peripheral rotor, the CFB A1000 caliber offers several other technical advances. The patented rotor mounting is assisted by DLC-coated rollers which are themselves mounted on ball bearings. The DLC coating provides a hardness exceeding 2,00 Vickers, which makes it several times harder than steel, the customary material used. The system requires no lubrication. The ball bearing/roller assemblies are mounted on rocking bars. Special springs allow highly accurate positioning of the rollers, and eccentrics ensure precise adjustment of the bars. In-Depth: Inside The Archives Of Audemars Piguet (Video)
To me, vintage Audemars Piguet is one of the most exciting, underappreciated, and beautiful categories of watches to study and collect. But let's not get it twisted.I won't pretend that as a whole, the vintage Patek Philippe market doesn't trump just about all other vintage markets combined, including AP. Still, that doesn't mean individually Pateks are the most valuable, desirable, rare, or even most interesting. I would contend, and I know I'm not alone in this, that piece by piece, a complicated, vintage Audemars Piguet is far more interesting than your average complicated vintage Patek, and after this article, I think you'll agree with me. 1 OF 60 Today, we've prepared for you a highly detailed recap of a full day that we spent with the team at Audemars Piguet digging through some of their most important and beautiful early-20th-century pieces. Our hosts for this exploration will be Sebastian Vivas, director of the Audemars Piguet Museum in

Lousy Business--I Just dont Get Flipping
Looking at the classifieds I see Batmans with stickers bought three months ago going for as little as $ 300 over MSRP and not moving. What is the big deal about flipping watches ? To me it does not make any sense at all to tie up $ 9K in an unworn watch, and then have trouble selling it at cost three months later. Think of all the hastle and risk involved, for a lousy profit. What is more is that it seems like there is a fake demand for these watches with so many buying to flip. Sooner or later these buyers will be discouraged and the miracle business attraction debunked. My guess is Rolex knows about this and have therefore restricted supply. The only ones that move watches are the known reputable gray sellers but they will buy you out of your watch for a 2K loss. There is risk and hastle involved there too.
