Ltd. Edition Sir Edmund Hillary Rolex Explorer
Last month, we reported that a classic collection of Rolex watches belonging to the Mount Everest conqueror Sir Edmund Hillary is headed to the auction. If you failed to hang one of precious timepieces, there is another chance to watch to pay tribute to the great adventurer. The new series of Tenzing Hillary Explorer is a limited edition of hree variations on the classic Explorer Rolex worn by Sir Edmund on his historic climb in 1953. The price of $39,000 and limited to only 88 examples, the watch (above) is also known as Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, who made the ascent of Mount Everest with him.
RO diver sizing
Lately I have taken a liking to Audemars RO Diver. In the past I didn't feel I could wear one because they always wear bigger and I have a smaller (6 3/4 inch) wrists. I tried on a RO offshore chronograph (42mm) and it was still a bit large but doable . Does the RO offshore diver (42mm) wear any smaller? Does anyone with smaller wrists have the diver, and if so can you submit photos of how it looks on a smaller wrist? Thank you in advance.
I'm back!
Not that I ever left but last year I sold my only Omega, a 2255.80 electric blue SMP300. I regretted it almost immediately - I don't really recall why I felt the compulsion to sell it. It was one of my first nice watches and a real tool watch. Recently I'd been thinking of getting another Omega and the new blue ceramic SMP was very interesting. After seeing one, I decided it was too much like my Rolex 116619LB and I really just wanted my old watch back. So I made an offer to the buyer and I got it back!! It hasn't been touched and is still operating at 1s/d. Great to have her back on my wrist!
My two Seamasters
Hey guys (and Gals), I've been reading a bit on the general forum lately and thought I'd drop in here as Seamasters were really my first love. I bought the SMPC AC new in 2004, the GMT is a more recent acquisition. (I figured I better grab the GW before they got too hard to find or too expensive.) There are some really wonderful watches on this site! I guess I need to drop in more often. Thanks for looking,Mitch
How many 2254.50 Seamasters are here on the Rolex Forum?
Having the 2254 itch again....Was wondering how many of you are owning such a beauty?Pictures would be nice...
