Interesting Interview With Laurent Picciotto - Chronopassion Owner And Horology Ambassador
You may or may not know who Laurent Picciotto is, but if you look at watch marketing online at all you will at least recognize the face. In addition to owning and running the Paris based Chronopassion, he is a serious voice in the high-end watch world and very online social-networking savvy. He is also a really nice guy. I met him at SIHH, which was pretty cool. You can check out a lot of what Laurent does at his Facebook page here.Tom over at TheWatchLounge did a little interview with Laurent recently and it is actually not a bad read. I have to admit that most interviews with watch brand executives are boring and devoid of interesting details. Maybe it is Laurent's cleverness or the fact that he a retailer as opposed to part of a brand, but his comments are worth a look. Check out the interview here.
what should I choose? your comment please.
I am thinking of flipping my SS diver to either a mint condition Bumble bee or the new offshore 26470 (grey colour)which one you think is a better choice.
What to do with a white Speedy dial?
So, after searching high and low, east to west, I was able to get my hands on the white Speedy dial seen below. I'm ordering the black hands from Ofrei. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360717783.492028.jpgSo, I know this forum has a strong passion for the original Speedy Pro--but I'm hoping to get some opinions on what I should do. Please reply with an open mind. Here are a few thoughts:* Mod it into my current sapphire sandwich?* Sell the sapphire and locate a low cost head only Speedy Pro and mod it in that? (Thus not modding a higher end model.)* Any other ideas? I wouldn't keep two Speedys (one of each dial)-- so that isn't an option financially. Thanks for your thoughts.
watchco omega sm300
what are people's opinions on these are they any good? does it defeat the object to buy a new vintage watch? i have fancied an vintage original sm300 for a while now but have just been offered a watchco one and i kind of understand why the new one is good with the luminova dial and hands and the saphire crystal etc but will i always regret not buying an original if i buy the watchcoalso what are they like to resell if i do buy it and just cant live with it?it is the date model by the way if that makes a difference to price or desirability of the watch any help would be greatly appreciated
My new Annual Cal addition...
Please allow me to share my latest addition... It seems I have a real weakness for two types of complications... Annual Calendars and GMT's.... Here is a watch that's been on my radar for a few months now... I finally got had the chance to pick one up last week... the 5205R! I went back and forth between the Black Dial and White Dial... Both stunning in there own way... finally went with the White Dial... Thanks for looking...
