Montres Journe Introduces Solid Gold Dials on 3 New F.P. Journe Watches
Francois-Paul Journe, the founder and namesake of the F.P. Journe watch brand, had long dreamed of making watches not just cases out of gold. In 2004 his watch company, Montres Journe, became the first to produce entire movements in 18k rose gold, and this year, Journe has added yet another component: gold dials for three of his brand’s watch models. The new dials which make their debut on new versions of the F.P. Journe Chronomtre Souverain, Octa Automatique Reserve and Octa Automatique Lune are made from 18k gold and feature embossed, mirrored numbers integrated into them. The base of each dial is sanded to perfection before a layer of silver is applied in Journe’s own special process. The numbers are surfaced and given their mirror-polish by means of a diamond tool. The print transfer of the time indications and F.P. Journe logo is the final step in making the dials, with up to five successive layers of finishing for a perfect “bomb” shape. Each dial
Home Alone with your ROO???
Take it out to dinner. My wife's been traveling all week so I decided to go have a nice dinner in the company of my ROO. We headed to The Palm and started with a refreshing Negroni. The worm has turned and I love it
After buying a speedmaster as my first expensive watch I got obsessed with better water protection and bought a sub and then a fifty fathoms and I wondered if I'd ever wear my chrono again. But today with the sun out after some wet weather down here in Sydney I couldn't have imagined anything better. On NATO and as cool as a cucumber. Viva le speedmaster! Viva le acrylic crystal and awesome patina and stopwatches on the wrist. Very happy I've still got it to enjoy. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1409452544.768506.jpgSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DJ 41 vs. DJ II
Hey guys. I went to one of my local ADs this past weekend to check out the new stainless steel DJ 41 in person. I am still waiting for them to get a rhodium / smooth / oyster configuration. I figured I'd still check out the blue dial because I used to own the same configuration in the DJ II and it would make for a good comparison pic to those interested. While I am still going to wait to see the rhodium dial in person before making my decision, I am now leaning towards the DJ 36 in the silver stick, fluted bezel, oyster bracelet combo. I hope everyone had a great weekend
My best shot, at least for now..
Pcls look amazing, the dial is sparkling and the red is popping! This is my best shot at a tough watch to photograph, at least for now..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
