Van Cleef & Arpels Jules Verne Les Voyages Watches
Each year Van Cleef & Arpels releases a series of limited edition watches that revolve around a certain theme. One of the themes this year was Jules Verne and the concept of discovery and exploration. To this end Van Cleef & Arpels created a few limited edition models to memorialize some of the places that Jules Verne described in his writings. There are also a few other pieces that expand on the concept of the exploration theme.Pictured here are some of the pieces that directly address the stories of Jules Verne. This is not however a depiction of the entire collection. There are two types of watches here. Two that contain more standard Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 846 three-hand automatic mechanical movements, and two that contain a special retrograde hour and minute movement that is based on a small JLC movement and has an exclusive to Van Cleef & Arpels module in it. These latter pieces have a retrograde hour hand on the left of the dial, and a retrograde hour hand on the r

Dont buy a WG Pepsi he says it looks like SS
A friend of mine asked me the other day, Do you know that you have a WG watch on that looks like a SS watch? I wouldn't buy it because no one knows it's gold my response to him was that's just the way I like it I don't buy watches for other people's satisfaction. I love the fact that my WG Pepsi flies under the radar, and that most people think it's just SS, that's the true beauty of watch collecting to me.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cyclops Magnification, Rolex QC issue or am I being paranoid?
I bought a Bluesy 116613LB couple weeks ago and it's just been a headache ever since. It was a private seller, a wife who was selling off ex-husbands pieces, and this was one of them. Had it authenticated by Vestaire Collective before I bought it and they said everything's original. I'm like ok cool, didnt think much of it.Everything was fine, until I put it next up to my sub.uhhh, why does the magnification look like it's from a $30 China town fake? Posted on another forum and they said to take it into an AD because VC isn't qualified to authenticate. I'm like ok, but closest AD to me is 2 hours and they charge $100 for appraisal. Which isn't the end of the world but I'd rather not do that if I don't need to.Then someone told me about how Rolex had QC issues in 2014-2015ish and that matches up because the seller said her ex-husband bought the watch in 2014. (it's been in their safe ever since).I don't even want the piece anymore because it'll just remind me of this headache every
