Learning To Dive With Oris Watches: A Winner's Perspective
Zach P. is the winner who joined watches-dealer and Oris in Grand Cayman to learn how to dive after winning our December 2014 holiday giveaway. Below is his account of the learn to dive adventure and his experience doing so while wearing Oris watches. Zach P. on Instagram. It almost goes without saying that getting offered the chance to get certified and go diving in one of the world's foremost dive sites with watches-dealer and the amazing folks at Oris was a singular haymaker of an opportunity to combine two personal passions in one epic trip one that certainly did not disappoint. Many kind thanks to Ariel at watches-dealer, to Jamie and Todd at Oris, to Phil at Nauticam Housings and Wild Shutter Imagery, and to the amazing folks at the Cobalt Coast resort DiveTech for an unforgettable week, and the completion of another personal life goal. Oh, and also to my lovely fiance the one who spurred me on this dive journey in the first place. As UA 1494 swung low and wide on approach to
Patek 5575 Auction Prices
See the prices are slowly coming down. Sotheby's auction at the price at around $130 000 including buyers premium in April 2015 and Aniquorum just sold in December for just under $100 000. Not sure what the sellers premiums are but I guess the sellers would clear around $72 000. That's roughly a 50% flip! Come on PP make us a non 175 Anniversary in 5575 so us mere mortals have a chance of wearing one!
5164 in the pool?
I get weird about having pushers that don't screw down in any water. Any 5164 owners swim with theirs yet? I don't know if I ever will....I know Patek says it's water resistant...but the design of the pushers, I fear, may lead to me hitting one of them while it's under the water with my forearm....The only watch with pushers I've worn under water is a daytona...with them screwed tightly down. Thoughts? Any 5980 owners can chime in as well....Thanks.
Getting so close!
Hey, Been lurking here for a long time. The time is getting close to the purchase of my first Panerai! I can't wait!! I've decided I love the pam111, although I do love the magnified date. I have a budget of 6k I might me able to sneak a little higher depending on the wife :big grin: Any thoughts, tips, tricks, and info. would be greatly appreciated.I'll be buying in the NY or Atlanta area. Any recommendations on where to purchase? Thanks in advance!
Rolex makes a darn comfortable/ergonomic watch, too
Among all the other good attributes. I've been wearing my 16610 nonstop for about a month, and decided to rotate it out. I will not name the brand/model to avoid a flame war. I will say it's also a watch that's quite popular for daily wear. And yet within just hours I miss the 16610. The bracelet digs in a bit more, the evenness of the weight just doesn't seem quite there. It is noticeably more uncomfortable. I'm sure I'd get used to it after wearing it a couple of days (I always do), but I always get struck by this whenever I rotate in another metal band watch.
