Perrelet Seacraft Watches Hands-On
At Basel 2011 I was surprised to see these new dive watches from Perrelet. The brand has recently focused a lot on formal and sport so I should have expected a good diver, however, I never saw these coming. The Seacraft collection is interesting and appealing though parts of the designs seem to be influenced from elsewhere. My biggest question is how much Perrelet paid SeaCraft boats to use the name? Personally, I don't think about boats when I hear the name, I actually think about Star Craft. There are three watches in the Seacraft collection and each comes with three different dial colors (black, white, or blue). A nice matching alligator strap option is also available for each of the watches. The colors are bold and so are the styles. I like the pieces overall but feel that Perrelet possibly could have gone further to make the watches more distinct. Plus, aside from the lugs and Perrelet logo on the dial, there isn't much about the watches that says "Perrelet."Despite these facts, th
44 vs. 42
I'm starting to think that a ROO 44 might work as a future next watch. Here are some pics of my Diver in comparison to the Panerai Submersible. Think I can pull off a 44?
Speedmaster Box??
Long time reader, first time poster. I have a question about Speedmaster boxes. I just purchased a pre-owned Speedmaster with the panda dial and it did not come with the box. I'm trying to purchase a replacement but I don't know if it originally came in Omega's red box or the 'wooden' box or something else.Any help would be appreciated. The model is the Speedmaster date-day-date/date-chronograph 323.30.40.40.04.001.
2254.50 or 2230.50 Date Wheel Code
Hi, Can anyone help me with the OME code for the date wheel for either the 2252.50 or 2233.50 SMP? I am contemplating modifying my 2531.80; I prefer the style of the 2254.50 but not the dial and intend to use the dial of the 2230.50 Non AC SMP, for the applied hour markers, Omega symbol and Omega. I have the OME codes for the following items: 2254.50 black bezel2230.50 dial2230.50 hands and dialHowever, try as I may using O Frei etc, I cannot discover the code for the black date wheel with white numbers. Any help much appreciated. Brian PS I found this photo on the web
Stick or Roman Dial on 36mm Datejust?
Thinking of adding a 36mm all steel Datejust with Jubilee bracelet but cannot decide on a dial. I have always like the stick dial and its lume but it seems the Roman dial is far more popular today. I like the stark contrast of the white dials but also the silver and Rhodium dials. I know its a matter of personal taste but just curious what people think. Any thoughts?
