Patrizzi & Co. NYC Auction Totals $4.2 Million
Patrizzi & Co. closed 2009 in New York City with an auction focused on collector-level timepieces offering just 93 lots. The sale generated $4,225,300, with Patek Philippe accounting for more than half the total value. Patrizzi & Co. finishes the year with sales over $34 million from eight auctions in New York, Geneva and Milan. A yellow gold Patek Philippe ref. 2499 Second Series brought the top price at $720,000. Other highlights from the evening include a very rare set of 4 Patek Philippe perpetual calendars, ref. 3970E, produced during the 1990s. The set includes one watch each in yellow, white and rose gold, and one in platinum. Custom dials with diamond indexes compliment each watch, and the original silver dials are also included. The set, which comes with a leather Patek Philippe case, brought $640,000.A yellow gold Patek ref. 2499/100 made and sold in 1990 accompanied by an extract from the archives sold for $320,000.You can view the complete results with images at the
Gold for Gold? Would you?
I am contemplating moving my 42m new style Gold ROO (26470or) for a Gold RO (15400or black face/black alligator strap) and using the left over $$ to pick up a pre-owned (or new) Diver or another more casual piece (possibly Rolex).Does this make sense ? I do like the 26470or (yes I like the dial ) but am thinking the combo of the 15400or and diver will give me a little more diversity in providing one dressier and one more casual piece. I do have a FC44 which would stay.As always.....thoughts are very welcome and opinions are appreciated ! TIA
Advice on buying Omega watch in New York
Sorry for starting a new thread about this, but I posted this message in another thread a couple of days ago, and no luck - so hopefully I can get some better response by putting it in a new one instead. This is what I wrote; From somebody who's not buying watches in the US on a regular bases, that being me Is it very common to get up to 30% discount on a Omega watch from an AD?I'm asking because I'll be visiting NY in a couple of weeks, and it would be interesting to know a little more about this because I might try to find something for my wife. But perhaps it would be difficult to get this kind of discount from an AD in a place like NY (Manhattan that is)?So any advice here would be most appreciated!Cheers,Joe
I got the call!!!!
I'm one of two people on the waiting list. Said the other person hasn't called back yet. I said I was looking to flip something as part of the deal, so if the other guy comes in first with cash in hand, it's his. Only fair. Right?I'll be there saturday so if it's there, fine, if not, then there is always next time. May leave the flip watch there too as a credit if something similar comes to pass. Need to get all the box parts together before sat now. And maybe give the watch a bath. Ok, guesses accepted on what for what. Hint, I'm really liking the T on the sides of the Swiss recently...
PAM 422 owners check in please
How many of you are out there? Let's see.... Where are you, when did you purchase your 422 and what do you like most about it (or not).I'm in Palm Beach County, Florida. Purchased late 2012 at Bal Harbor Boutique, Miami. This watch is all about the design of the case.
