AP ROO 26170 v Rolex Daytona 116520
I bought my first ever AP 2 weeks ago and have owned various daytonas equipped with the outstanding 4130 movement.I've been amazed that my Daytona keeps time to 1 second per day, that's outstanding performance.I've timed my AP ROO for 14 days/nights and it is now just 1 second fast after 14 nights!!! That is simply unbelievable. My AP ROO is on a whole higher level to the Daytona, and I firmly believe the Daytona is an awesome and beautiful watch.
nebie question on PP annual calendar watch.
On a PP annual calendar watch do you have to set the date every year or every 4 years. That is the watch will go from feb 28 to March 1 (normal years) so no adjustment have to be made on normal years. Have to make a adjustment on leap years (every 4 years)or..the watch goes from feb 28 to 29 then March 1 so you have to advance the watch a day every year except for leap years. p.s. my bulova watches need only to correct the date every fours years (on leap years)
Summer/Casual watch decision
So I am looking to add another watch to the (very small) collection and am going back and forth on options and would welcome any opinions from the community! This will be to add to a GMT Master (worn in the office during the week) and a Royal Oak Chronograph stainless steel (worn for occasions/evening wear. The aim will be to upgrade this to a Rose Gold version in future but that's one for another day).I really want something to wear with jeans and a t-shirt on weekends, or around the swimming pool. I have a holiday coming up and fancy something new!Budget circa 12k GBP, and the options I am looking at are as follows;Patek Aquanaut 5167; + = it's a Patek! I've started to really hanker after a Patek and I like the 5167 over the 5711. Understated elegance. Value retention. Will go with anything. Rubber strap, ideal for it's purpose.- = I don't want to pay overs and if I wait around for one from an AD it'll be summer 2025 by the time it lands Royal Oak Offshore Diver;+ = I love the AP br
UK professional shortage due to continue
In light of people's speculation here and elsewhere, I thought I'd share this from my contact with the rolex UK boutique I frequent in London: .................................................. ......... Personal chat removed..... So if I were to go by the list it would be a very very long time. I am trying my best for all my valued clients to be able to get one well before that time....(The order of years).....Thus there isn’t a particular order or date I can give you for your watch! Also Rolex have been asking for 10 names at a time of clients who are on our deposit list. From those names they check any previous sales they have made/how often they purchase a stainless steel professional model. There have been many that have ended up in the pre-owned market, along with the new Sky Dwellers/ SeaDwellers and GMTs. Usually not from our store because we manage our list the way we do. But it just means that Rolex are extra weary when sending out stock. So it delays us as mu
