8 Things to Know About the Christophe Claret Allegro
At #baselworld 2015, Christophe Claret's headliner was the Allegro, a new minute repeater watch that boasts very fine craftsmanship and an extremely eye-catching movement. Here's what you need to know about the Le Locle brand's latest in order to stay up to date. 1. It comes from a very musical family.Watchmaker Christophe Claret has always been fond of minute repeaters; in fact, the first watch movement Claret designed, in 1989, was a minute repeater. The Allegro follows in this heritage. It is the third musical watch in the brand's Traditional Complications collection, following after the Adagio and Soprano models. However, it has a movement entirely its own. Caliber ALG89 is a manually wound caliber 34 mm in diameter. It has a grand total of 520 components. It beats at 21,600 vph. 2. It's that time of the year again, and I am, of course, referring to Baselworld. Baselworld is arguably the single most important watch fair of the year, a showcase for brands to present their newest releases and designs. This year proved to be an interesting and exciting one, and most brands did not disappoint with their new releases. Perhaps two of the most talked about new watches came from Rolex and Patek Philippe. For Rolex, we saw two new Everose gold Yacht-Master watches that are offered?with a rubber straps. These are the first watches to come from Rolex?with a rubber strap. And from Patek Philippe, we have the very peculiar new Calatrava Pilot Travel Time. To kick off this round-up, let's take a look at some of the most popular and talked about watches that we saw at Baselworld 2015.Baselworld news aside, we also have an interesting story to share about Jose Mourinho and his watches. If you are a big fan of soccer or football - as it is known outside of the United States - then
De Bethune DB25 Dead Beat Tourbillon Regulator Watch
I will repeat to you the words that I recently told De Bethune's CEO. There are expensive watches that I really appreciate and know that I would strongly consider getting them if I had the money. Then there is De Bethune, that actually makes me angry I cannot afford it." I've written about De Bethune a bit over the years - not having too much experience with the pieces. But recently I was fortunate enough to finally meet with the boutique Swiss brand and experience the magic.Like a handful of other brands out there, De Bethune is a brand that even the most seasoned and mature watch lovers and collectors are extremely fond of. They simply do things others cannot. Their designs are out of this world, and their mechanics are brilliant, functional, and drop-dead gorgeous to admire. These watches are a dream - and funny enough one of their pieces is actually called "The Dream Watch."2011 sees the DB25 - an interesting timepiece that plays with the tourbillon in a new way. Unlike some of De

Rolex fine bone china?
Could anybody tell me if Rolex made fine bone china? I bought a relish dish that has the Rolex name and trademark crown on the bottom of the dish. This is a beautiful dish, white in color and trimmed in what looks to be gold. I can not find any info on the web. Any info would really help. Thank you.
