AP as daily driver?? Why not?
I read a lot of comments on here from people saying that they would not have an AP for their daily watch. I see it a lot for Royal Oaks (which I am particularly interested). Is this solely based on the fact that the finishes are so perfectly executed and the bezels are subject to being easily scratched? I mean if you didn't care how much the watch got scratched would you still not use it daily? I guess I am just trying to figure out the basis of this statement. I have a Sub-C. I wear it everywhere and anywhere not worrying about scratches. I want a ROO Diver. I have gotten advice in the past on here telling me to keep the Sub cause I wouldn't want to use the AP dailythen what is the point??Does anyone wear their AP RO all day, everyday? Anyone have pics of a daily worn APscratches and all???
Omega vs Omega
Ok guys so I'm trying to decide on my first Omega watch... omg i know, how exciting! I love the PO Chrono w Orange bezel 45mm but have noticed that the bigger watches don't get as much wrist time as the 40's, which are a lot more comfortable. Since it will be a daily wear, I was thinking a SMP or SMP GMT. Any recommendations, Omega wise? Also, what are your recommendations, if one were to have only one Omega, or as a definitive must have Omega watch? Thanks :D
The aura of vintage and the curiosity of modern
My 5513 is my first vintage Rolex and perhaps among my favorite watches ever but I will be the first to admit, I am scared to use it as a daily wearer as its unpolished and perfect IMO. My solution was to get a 14060 and so I did, but alas, it just doesn't have the same good looks or feel and so I am on the fence about letting it go, allow me to explain; My conclusion, is that IMO if you are getting a non super case Submariner, it should be a 5513, 1680, but if you are going modern, IMO the case, lugs and bracelet of a 114060 is superior to that of the 14060 or 16610. thoughts on my above statement?
