Hamilton Celebrates 120 Years With Exhibit at New York’s Tourneau Time Machine
Hamilton Watch Company, founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1892, marks its 120th anniversary this year. To commemorate the milestone, Hamilton has collaborated with the National Watch & Clock Museum (NAWCC) , one of the world's largest museums devoted to the art, science and history of timepieces and timekeeping, to curate a month-long public exhibit of Hamilton archives at New York City’s Tourneau Time Machine. The exhibit, which opened on June 4, takes a look back at Hamilton through the years, and is chock-full of interesting items for watch lovers and history buffs, including photos of the original Hamilton factory and past employees, several vintage timepieces (including a marine chronometer from the 1940s, an original Hamilton Pulsar, and the Ventura model that Elvis Presley wore in Blue Hawaii), dozens of old advertisements, original company newsletters and video testimonials from former employees. All items are either from Hamilton's archives or on loan from the NAW

New 15450
They will now come in black and blue dials I was hoping the 15450 would eventually come with a blue dial since my wrists are too small for a 15400
Another Speedy and Houston Connection Thread
I didn't want to barge into the other Speedy and Houston thread, so I thought I would start my own. If you are a WIS you might find this interesting. If you read my Speedy and Archive Question thread you know something about my 105.012-65.003. But here is my Houston connection. So the guy I bought the watch from says he bought the watch from the daughter of the original owner after the original owner passed away. She says her father bought it new at the same store in Houston where the astronauts got their watches (Corrigans?) right around the time of the Gemini space flights. He lived in Houston for 30 years, moved to London for about twenty years (where it might have gotten it's .003 movement) and then back to Houston before he passed away. My seller lived in Houston and bought it from the daughter in Houston. After I bought the watch I texted the seller. Knowing the watch did not have box or papers, but knowing the watch would come in a box with a return address from Houston, I asked
Omega 8500 Caliber putting some pressure on Rolex...
The specs on the new 8500 movement from Omega are pretty amazing....Double barrel design (DLC coated) with a 60 hour power reserveDual directional winding automaticFree sprung balanceFull balance bridge39 jewels202 partsCOSC certificationIt looks to me as though Omega bench marked the now 20 year old 3135 and just upped it everywhere that it could. What do you guys think? Should Rolex be worried? Should they fight back with an update or reworking of their base calibers or do you think that they just don't care?Personally, I was really shocked by the difference in the Omega 2500 caliber that was beating inside my Planet Ocean and the 3130 inside my Submariner (which should arrive early next week - the waiting is killing me). I think Omega is just catching up with Rolex in the 8500 caliber and that Rolex should feel no immediate threat. It will take some time for people to realize that Omega is quickly closing the gap in quality (and entry level price) with Rolex and I suspect Rolex will
