Bremont Adds New Models to Its Solo Collection
Bremont launched its Solo collection, inspired by pilots’ watches from the 1940s, in 2011. This year, the line expands with the addition of a new white-dial model, which accompanies the original black-dial version, and a smaller version with a 37-mm diameter case.Like its predecessor, the new white-dial Solo is housed in a 43-mm three-piece steel case, whose design Bremont refers to as “Trip-Tick,” and powered by a modified ETA 2836 movement that the company has named BE-36AE. The movement has been chronometer-certified. The case undergoes a special hardening process at Bremont’s workshop in England that gives it a hardness of over 2,000 Vickers, and renders it seven times more scratch resistant than normal watch-grade steel.Above and below: the new Bremont SoloThe other watch, nicknamed Solo-37, is the smallest timepiece that Bremont has yet produced, and the company sees it appealing primarily to women. Like the larger models, it has a mechanical chronometer m
Louis Vuitton Tambour Volution GMT In Black Watches For 2015
For Baselworld 2015, Louis Vuitton watches embrace black with a new collection of three Louis Vuitton Tambour?Volution timepieces in black - each of them sporting a second time zone in quasi-GMT format. These are pretty interesting models and add an interesting look to the larger Louis Vuitton watch collection, which the company has been attempting to bolster as a more serious horological product for the last few years. Part of that has been investing in their own movement manufacture, "Louis Vuitton La Fabrique du Temps," as well as focusing on some more experiment complications. We see one of those here, in this new version of the Louis Vuitton Tambour Volution Spin Time GMT in Black watch.Louis Vuitton is part of the larger LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) group which also owns major watch makers such as Zenith, Hublot, TAG Heuer, and Bulgari. It isn't as though LVMH really needs more watches, but a brand as powerful as Louis Vuitton doesn't do too poorly with whatever it decide
I'm back - CE Incoming!
I've had my share of issues with AP in the past, but this is one I couldn't pass up. I saw my main man Takuya had one in his inventory and couldn't pass it up. The condition is amazing and still under warranty. Thanh Do even threw in this awesome hat This is a watch I've always wanted and as most of you know, it's not really that easy to get. I am absolutely thrilled with it. I was honestly not very happy with the SS Diver when I owned it (briefly) so I had some reservations, but I have to say, IMO this watch is on a different level. Side Note: not the easiest watch to photograph, it's much much better in person.Enjoy!
Pretty bummed about a vintage Omega
Folks,So my father recently gave me a circa 1950's Omega that has been handed down from my grandfather to my pops and now to me. It's a pretty cool watch, plastic domed crystal, stick hour markers, no date and a nicely patina'd dial that is a yellowish gold hue. The case is stainless but does not have any markings of the model. So I have no idea what it actually is? Unfortunately it isn't running so I took it to my favorite AD where I buy most of my watches and asked them to take a look.I get a call today and the watchmaker gave me some unfortunate news, aparentely the balance is pretty much out of commission and the movement needs some work. Long story short, they quoted me a $700 dollar estimate to fix it as it needs some parts and labor. They also informed me maybe I can find a movement and swap it out. Once I get the watch back I can post some pictures to get some thoughts on it. I should have it back Friday.Just thought I would share my disappointment.
Broken Spring bar...
Hey everyone, so long story short one of the springboard on my Sub C broke. Not exactly sure how but luckily I was wearing a Nato strap so the watch never left my wrist. Went to my local AD and they gave me a crappy replacement that is too big for me to be able to wear the Steel Band. So does anyone know where/how I can get a legit rolex replacement?
