Moritz Grossman Benu And Atum Watches From Glashutte
Moritz Grossman is a name you probably haven't heard of before, which is a bit surprising given the lineage of the man the company is named for. Back in 1842, Herr Grossman began a watchmaking apprenticeship, which he ended up completing early due to his talent. Over the next 13 years, he traveled around Europe (including a stop in La Chaux-de-Fonds), before coming back to Dresden in 1845. And this year, a new chapter in the legacy of Mortiz Grossman sees a new high-end German watch brand. In Dresden, Mortiz's good friend Adolph Lange (yes, the A. Lange) had established his facilities in Glashtte, and convinced Grossman to stay in the area. Stay he did, creating things such as the Glashtte lathe, and various escapements and other movement improvements until his death in 1885. Grossman is part of the history of German watchmaking and today his name is on the face of some gorgeous, wonderfully Germanic timepieces of a high pedigree.Given the name this brand carries, and where it's locat
Peter Speake-Marin Spirit Mark 2 Watch
Searching for something you will likely never see on another wrist? Peter Speake-Marin may have just the watch for you. The luxury watchmaker has announced a re-imagining of their Spirit Pioneer, nicely named the Spirit Mark 2. The Spirit Mark 2 is a redesign of the original Spirit Pioneer in that is follows the same form, but does so via a new movement, case, and dial which present a gorgeous three-hand display that is instantly recognizable as being a Speake-Marin design. The Spirit Mark 2 features the Speake-Marin signature Piccadilly three piece case, lending a 42 x 12mm sizing that is perfect for this design. I have seen a Peter Speake-Marin Piccadilly in person and the proportions are spot-on and make for a gorgeous watch with strong lugs and a detailed case design that is both unobtrusive and thoughtful. The Spirit Mark 2 features a circular ground finishing on the fixed and sterile bezel that surrounds an anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal. Timekeeping is managed by the TT7
Oh crap, my watch stopped running this morning...
Woke up at 6:50am for work, wat h was fine. Took it off to shower and get ready for work and went to strap it back on and it read 6:55am. I unscrewed the crown, reset the time, wound it up and screwed it in. It ran for a few secs and stopped. Pulled the crown back out, pushed it in and it started working. Flipped it over and the balance wheel was not moving and when I flipped the watch back over, it wasn't running. Oh well, definitely a bummer... I inquired about a warranty, the AP warranty expired in Feb, and it wasn't sent in for the 3rd yr of coverage. Thankfully, EastCoast Time was kind enough to offer me a 1 yr warranty on it for peace of mind.

I never knew, did you???
Okay, so I was taking some closeups of my 16623 YM today and upon reviewing the pictures I came across something that puzzled me. In one of the pictures I saw something that I hadn't seen in the others. A little detective work with a magnifying glass and shooting at the right angle and I captured it.Look at the first photo, then the second photo, magnified.Did you all know about this?
