Eterna KonTiki Diver Watch Available: Be One Of The First To Own One
The Eterna KonTiki Diver was to be one of the first new Eterna watches to be officially sold in the US again. The wait was long. Years overdue, literally. We all sat and drooled over the pictures of the unique looking diver watch from Eterna that somehow appeared perfectly designed. I recall thinking to myself, "that watch has everything I think I would want in a diver watch." The legible face, subtle futuristic and confident looks, power reserve, rotating bezel, and sturdy case and construction!The initial price for the Eterna Kontiki that I read about really discouraged me. 10 grand?! Really?! That is expensive, and up there in Rolex Seadweller and Blancpain Fifty Fathoms territory, which are great watches, but I mostly like something that I know is rock solid and only enthusiasts can really appreciate. What's the standard strap vs short strap diff?
I'm looking for anyone who was had a ROO standard strap and then swap to short strap, to tell me the different in fit? I've got a diver and wear it on the fourth hole from the end. The fifth hole is too tight. I'd like the fourth hole to fit a little tighter. Now, recently another member purchased the new deployant and says with the folding mechanism, the strap fits a little tighter. However, I expressed my desire to Clearwater and they tell me they should fit the same. It seem like it would fit a bit tighter but the experts disagree and since they won't take it back I need to be sure first. So now, I'd like to know if the short strap changes the fit. Of the two straps the long side is the same but the short side is different. I would say I have regular sized wrists, I'm only looking to change the way the watch fits. Upgrading the Explorer 214270
It's possible that a similar thread has been posted on this forum but I searched and didn't find anything. Anyway, here's my question. If one has the older version of the explorer I with the MK1 dial and shorter hands is it possible to upgrade to the MK2 dial with longer hands? If so, does the watch have to be sent to a RSC or can it be done at an AD? Has anyone done this? If so, how much did it cost? I have an explorer I with a MK1 dial and I'm really happy with it, short(er) hands and all, but I'm curious as to what options I have. Thanks, Robert
