Adriano Valente AV-L001 Watch To Go With Your Lamborghini
Finally, a watch with a design as ostentatious as a Lamborghini - designed to go with your Lamborghini. New Italian watch brand Adriano Valente (did the name give it away?) has released their first watch called the AVL001. With tons of customization options, it is designed to go with the look of newer Lamborghini cars such as the Murcielago and Gallardo. It has a unique case design and (reportedly) exclusive in-house made movement. Note that their website music might give you brain seizure. Plus, even if you turn the music off on the site, it will inexplicably turn itself back on at some point and make you wonder if the ghost of a failed Milan night club is lurking in your computer to haunt you.First of all, Adriano Valente has no relationship with Lamborghini - these are quite unofficial watches of the cars. Adriano started the brand because he simply didn't find any existing watches out there with what he wanted. So the entire point of the brand is about customization. The first mode
Ulysse Nardin Planetarium Nicolaus Copernicus: Old World Celestial Calendar Watch
There are novelty watches, and then there are pretty interesting novelty watches. Ulysse Nardin always graces us with a multitude of interesting timepieces in addition to those it actually intends on being sales leaders. For a while, Ulysse Nardin was quite keen on taking up the challenge of producing a series of celestial or astronomical themed watches, with many a fascinating result.Once such model is this Ulysse Nardin Planetarium Nicolaus Copernicus, which achieves the feat of showing a good deal of interesting (albeit incomplete on a modern scale) information. Aside from mere telling of the time, the watch is segmented in several concentric dials that each turn. You should first know that the watch means to represent both Ptolemy's characterization of an Earth-centric universe along with Copernicus' helio-centric universe. While Copernicus got it right, both of them calculated the scale of the universe. Along with such early notions of astronomy, the Ulysse Nardin Planetarium Ni
Hands-On: With The Cl de Cartier, An Evolution In Concept, Shape, And Functional Design (Live Photos, Pricing)
My first vintage watch was a?Cartier Santos Dumont?C?a small, handsome, time-only yellow gold model from the 1960s that introduced me to the wide, wide world of vintage watch research.?I became fixated on this watch for a myriad of reasons, but most certainly because I knew Cartier as a watchmaker?and this particular watch?harkened back to both the early days of the maison?and the early commercial history of wristwatches in general. So when Cartier announced a completely new line of watches C Cl de Cartier C I was curious to see?how this legendary company intends to move forward?with a respect for its heritage?and an eye on innovation. 2 OF 14 Silhouettes of Cartier's iconic wristwatches. From left: the Santos, Tank, Ballon Bleu, and Cl de Cartier. In a slickly-designed presentation, Cartier distills the current design of its watches to four main case shapes. The Santos Design aficionados may lament the absence of the Cartier Crash in this quartet, but that par
5164 Availability
Hello All,I've admired the Patek 5164 from afar for quite some time but have never been able to handle one/see one at an AD. Are these just so popular that they are impossible to find, a la 5711, or have I just been looking in the wrong places? (i.e. NY/CT)
Question about the Tudor "Tiger"
I was on a Daytona/Tudor discussion thread but can't find it again, so...I recently purchased a Tudor Tiger Prince Date. It is Mod 79270P. It has a leather deployment band and buckle. Does anyone know if the leather is cowhide or shark or??? Also, this is very elementary, but how does one use the rotating 12 hour bezel for different time zones? Thank you in advance.Preechr
