7 Modern Watches Inspired by Historical Pieces
The vintage-look trend that has been so prevalent in the watch world in recent years showed no signs of abating at last year’s Baselworld watch fair. Modern re-editions of historical pieces continue to emerge from some of the most venerable watch brands. Here are seven notable examples of “vintage-inspired” watches that launched in 2015.The Omega Globemaster the first watch to receive the brand’s “Master Chronometer” certification is technically an all-new model in the Omega portfolio, but it gets its design cues from earlier models: the pie pan dial echoes that of a vintage Omega Constellation from 1952; and the fluted bezel is derived from that of another Constellation model from 1968. Need some help please
Hi everyone.I saw the Dark Side at an AD and fell in love! I can't get it out of my mind. However the only hi end watches that I own are Rolex and Panerai. I'm having a hard time justifying how expensive it is. I can get the Dark Side for quite a bit off retail but it's still up there. My question is how do Omega hold their value? In particular how to you think the Dark Side will hold value over time? I've never had this concern about a Rolex. I'm debating getting rid of my GMT C and I've already turned my Panerai. Thinking about three watches for my collection. Sub no date, SS Daytona, and the Dark side. Thanks!
Issue with my 5960/1A
Wellwith the recent bout of Patek watch issues, I guess it was just a matter of time before I am hit.I have a 2015 5960/1A - Annual Calendar Flyback Chronograph Power Reserve and Day / Night indicator which started having this particular issue a couple of days ago:It runs fine but when I pull out the crown to make any adjustment, the Power Reserve automatically drops to empty. Also I have been suspicious that the rotor is not winding the barrel. I have to manually wind the crown to bring up the power reserve indicator. Luckily it is under warranty so will ship off to NYC service center soon but have any of you experienced the same issue? Is there anything I can do to correct it on my own?
