September is almost here, and that means we're about to enter the middle of a great time for watch lovers in New York City. This fall we will see the launch of some kick-ass mono-brand boutiques here in the city, including A. Lange & Söhne, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Blancpain. Just last week, we were invited into the new Blancpain store on Fifth Avenue for an early look (though doors are open to the public now – the official launch will be in November). Here you will see a quick photo report of the new 1700 sq. ft. boutique located at 645 Fifth Avenue. 2 OF 35 This store is large. I mean really large, especially for a watch store on Fifth venue. You walk in and are greeted by an expansive, open interface completely with a 360° animation of the Vallee de Joux. Hi allI have fallen in love with the new AP Carbon ROO (pic is one on my wrist)ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338017851.778379.jpgI have a question on the durability and toughness of carbon in watches. I have read on a blog recently that carbon is not a good material for a watch case as it is prone to chipping.Does anyone own a carbon watch and able to give some real life advice.I do not baby my watches and love to wear them and do not want to buy something that I will be consistently worried about.Any real life opinions very welcome before I pull the trigger.Thanks! Dent on lug from spring bar ejection?
I discovered a nice dent on my lug. Not too sure where it came from, but the dent lines up with the lug hole, which means it could've come from a spring bar coming through the front. Could Rolex Dispense with Stainless Steel Watches?
How about this possibility? Rolex is trying to eliminate sales of stainless watches that are in competition with their precious metal watches. Using them only as loss leaders to get their consumers to buy the PM watches. No lack in availability of PM pieces afaik. Rolex could choose to focus their manufacturing efforts where they can get the most bang for the buck going after the higher market tier. They don't care if there are people dying to buy their bargain stainless watches. That's not their problem. They could take the attitude that if the consumer wants Rolex watches let them pay for PM. The brand might have enough clout to pull that off.

AD had 0 SS sport models
So today I went to my AD hoping that I can get my hands on a 116610LV, the guy said sorry, sir. we don't have any but you can put your name on the waiting list and wait for a month or so. and the price? $9,466. they didn't even have 114060, sub date, gmt, BLNR. needless to say I put my name and hopefully will get a call in 2 weeks or so.
