Omega Sedna Gold And Sochi Games Limited Edition Watches Announced Pre-Basel 2013
Omega?is clearly prepared for BaselWorld 2013 and has announced three new limited edition models in advance of the show, which takes place in April of this year. The most interesting part of the announcement is the debut of a new gold alloy they call "Sedna". The first of their timepiece announcements is the Constellation Sedna, a ladies' sized Constellation crafted from this new alloy. A mix of gold, copper and palladium renders a case that looks very much like rose gold and exhibits a strong reddish hue. Being comprised of at least 75% gold, Omega is claiming that this Swatch in-house alloy will better sustain its rose gold tone. This sounds like Omega's answer (once again) to Rolex's Everose gold alloy. To match the case, the Sedna comes fitted with Sedna alloy hands, markers and tang buckle. The Constellation Sedna is 38 mm wide and its unique alloy case houses an Omega in-house co-axial 8501 automatic chronometer movement. The movement, along with its Si14 silicon balance spring, c
The Oak & Oscar Burnham
The American watch brand scene just gained a new addition with Chicago-based Oak & Oscar. The brand is entering the market with a watch called the Burnham, a limited-edition piece that packs a lot of detailing into a straightforward design. Oak & Oscar looks and sounds like something straight out of a hipster’s how-to handbook, with references to bourbon and crafted-leather accessories, but there is some real substance here in the execution. 1 OF 6 The Burnham gets its name from the architect and urban planner Daniel Burnham, who left his indelible mark on the city of Chicago more than 100 years ago. The watch is an interesting study in dial design, with many subtle details working independently of one another. The matte-grey dial is referred to as “non-militarized,” meaning great lengths were taken to ensure the sandwich dial and each of the Arabic numerals didn’t come off as a stencil set of numbers. The 8 and 7 were particular challenges
Better movement - Audemars Piguet ROO or Rolex?
I have read a couple of reviews on both watches - and while there will always be fanatics for both brands, I am curious of your thoughts:Which watch company has a better movement - Audemars Piguet or Rolex? So specifically I am comparing a Royal Oak Offshore to a Daytona. Based on jewels, rotations per hour, accuracy, certification, etc. The other thing to sort of makes me question AP - what do you guys think of the fact that the chronograph pushers are not alighted with the crown? Just something that would cause my OCD to act up :)
Finally flipped the 5712 for 5164R and 5196R
Following my previous posts, I finally took possession of my new pieces.Thank you again.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
New Watch! GMT Master II BLNR
Hi all, First post here, just picked up my BLNR from Prestons in Guildford. So chuffed with it, although currently locked away until my birthday in June. Thinking of getting a blue Everest Band; anyone know any UK stockists? Jamie Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
