Cleared for Takeoff: The Breitling Emergency II Lands at U.S. Retailers This Summer
Breitling introduced the Emergency II successor to the wildly popular Breitling Emergency, and the first-ever watch with?a dual-frequency locator beacon at Baselworld 2013. However, the watch’s planned U.S. retail release has been stalled for nearly two years awaiting approval from the FCC, which regulates the airwaves over which its built-in rescue signal operates. On June 23, pilots, sailors, and other adventurers who have patiently waited for the chance to purchase the Emergency II received good news. At a press conference aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid Air and Space Museum in New York, co-hosted by pilot, astronaut and Breitling brand ambassador Mark Kelly, Breitling announced that the government red tape had finally been cut: the company received its necessary FCC waiver, and the Breitling Emergency II would finally be available at retail on July 1. Here’s what you need to know about this world’s-first timepiece. The original Breitling Emergency, introduced in 199
Rolex guys opinion on Breitling Navitimer.
Hi Guys,I know there's a Breitling section on the forum but since I want to hear the Rolex guys opinion I think this is the right section for this thread.I'm not a fan of Breitling in general but I do like the Navitimer 01, I know Breitlings resale is bad and that they can be had with good discounts,A good friend that works at an AD is offering me 3 different Breitlings models at 50% off retail, actually about 45% because it's a 50% of the price of the head plus the strap I choose at retail, and one of the models is the Navitimer 01.What do you guys think is a 50% off a brand new Navitimer a good deal?, the model they have on sale is the 43mm the 46 is not on sale. How's the quality of the Breitlings deployment buckle ?I have both options , deployment or tang on both calf and Croc, the calf with tang being the cheapest.TIA.
I would buy this in a hearbeat
Personally, I don't condone Frankenwatches, but this .flickr/photos/shaneli...7624117378632/ mod has me salivating. If OMEGA made this, there is virtually no price that I wouldn't pay for one.
Let's talk about the new perpetual (5327)
Basel 2016 was rather uneventful for this poor soul. 5170R is quite a looker and the much talked about 5930 is interesting, but not much else. The strange decision to keep the 5140 in Platinum while introducing the new perpetual reference 5327 seems a little bizzare. I'm personally most curious about seeing the 5327 in person. It is the successor to the 5140 and 3940, the daily wear perpetual. 5327R_001.pngMy thoughts are as follows. Curious to hear yours.1. Bringing breguet's to the masses! And to men's watches.2. I like they fixed the dates on the dial. 3. The breguet's are interesting but do they clutter the dial too much? Will it sell more / to a younger crowd (this old 30-something year old has been trending to more classic watches....).4. I like the look of the rose and yellow gold on the lacquer dial. The blue, not so much. It will kill the market for the 5140P blue dial I imagine. 5. 240 movement in a 39mm case?? Will this work/look good? I suppose patek has been recycling mo
