JCK 2015: Raymond Weil Launches its First Pilots’ Watch, the Freelancer Piper
Students of wristwatch history know that Raymond Weil, founder of the eponymous watch brand, was both a watchmaker and a musician. What many might not have known until recently is that he was also a pilot and aviation enthusiast. The Raymond Weil Freelancer Piper, which I had a chance to preview at JCK 2015 in Las Vegas, is a tribute to its founder's deep passion for aviation. Produced in a partnership with the aviation manufacturer Piper Aircraft, Inc., it is the Swiss watch brand’s first-ever pilot watch. The watch has a 45-mm-diameter case made of titanium and stainless steel and contains a mechanical, self-winding chronograph movement equipped with a date indication and a pilot-friendly GMT function. The shiny blue minute and hour hands resemble an aircraft's rotor blades while the GMT hand, with its red pointer, has the look of a compass needle. The small seconds subdial at 9 o'clock is inspired by a dashboard altimeter. The black leather strap also imparts a classic, vintage
15300 help
Hi all,I been viewing the site for a while now and would like some help with the 15300. The RO is my ultimate grail and whilst I don't have the ability to stretch to the 15202 I have narrowed to the 15300. Recently I almost pulled the trigger on the black faced 15400, but opted instead for the GP Laureato 225 with the blue face as the 15400 just didn't feel right on my wrist - strangely the GP seemed smaller, even though both are rated 41mm.With this in mind I feel that looking at the 15300 may be the more viable option as most owners detail that this piece wears bigger on the wrist that the dimensions would suggest. With this in mind does anyone have the lug width and lug to lug dimensions of this piece? Thanks in advance for any help.
Playing with my Camera and my ROO
Just a few shots of my ROO 25721ST. Please excuse the big scratches on the bezel but this is almost a daily wearer and I enjoy the hell out of it. IMHO watches are meant to be worn and enjoyed. While I am extremely careful with my watches, sometimes nicks and scratches are unavoidable.
Took this one out of the vault
unbelievable but this one sat in the bank vault for several monthsstill imo one of the best Patek ever made but the last several months I wore other watches.Untill yesterday I realized this beauty needed some wrist time :-)It is ofcourse personal choice but I looked at many high end chronographs in the past and not one Breguet, VC, Lange, or whatever even comes close
