Scenes from SIHH
SIHH 2012 opened today and the initial buzz from collectors is positive. Depending on which booth you entered, you might be greeted by a fighter jet and aircraft carrier, or enormous timepiece and a 3.5 ton piece of Germany. Here are a few quick snaps to set the scene for SIHH 2012.

Don't recall the name of the actor, but in the new movie The Bounty Hunter is that an Omega Speedmaster so prominently featured?

Anyone know year based on serial numbers
for Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra (recent models)?

Alternative to 5167
I love the Aquanaut and will own one some day, but I've been looking at the GO Seventies Panorama Date which is about half the price of the 5167 and has many similarities IMO. I'm not going to say that the GO is nearly as amazing a watch as the 5167, but it is still a wonderful piece. And the gray dialed GO on rubber especially seems very similar to the Aquanaut IMO. Similar case shape, simple design, sporty yet classy aesthetic, very versatile. Am I crazy in thinking that the two pieces are similar? Do you guys think it's a worthy alternative for some time until I decide to move into a much higher price range which the PP is in? Adding a Hacking feature to all movements?
I am a FREQUENT traveler.... flown on one airline, over 100,000 miles this year. I love my DJ41, (purchased earlier this year) but one thing I truly miss is the feature of moving just the hour hand when traveling through time zones. With my GMT, and then my EXII, it was so easy to simply click the hour hands back or forth to accomodate the time change (I might have the term wrong calling it hacking but you get what I mean). I know it doesn't seem like a big deal to pull out the stem to another click and manually move the minute hand ahead or behind two or three hours, but like a lot of things in life, you don't miss something until it's gone. I guess this is a question for Larry and the other smarter people on TRF then me (which pretty much covers everyone ) but is it such a big deal to offer that feature on all movements? I wouldn't think so. The 3235 is outstanding, but this is one function I would really like to see added. Rolex, are you listening?
