the watches of Concord Night Vision range
Sometimes we appreciate a timepiece that brings something extra to your arm apart from straightforward time-keeping. Take, for example, the watches of Concord Night Vision range. Originally released in 2003, the Swiss-made range was relaunched this year at BaselWorld and attempts to bring the utility of their famous pocketknives to your wrist wear.
Introducing The Bremont Wright Flyer, A Limited Edition Containing A Fragment Of The World's First Airplane
Bremont has created some pretty special limited editions in the past, including the Codebreaker (containing material from Bletchley Park) and the HMS Victory (with oak and copper from the eponymous warship). Today Bremont unveils what might be the most ambitious watch they've produced to day, the Bremont Wright Flyer. Not only does the watch contain (according to Bremont) the company's brand new proprietary movement, but it also contains an actual piece of muslin from the wing of the Wright Flyer, the world's very first airplane. Seriously.?Honestly, Bremont is the only watchmaker that could pull off something like this. As if launching its very first in-house movement wasn't enough, it has to put a piece of the world's first airplane in the watch for good measure. It's hard not to get excited about this piece, so let's dig in. 2 OF 18 via wikipedia.org The namesake aircraft, the Wright Flyer, made the world's first powered flight in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, in De
Royal Oak Two-Tone Sets New Record at Auction
This weekend at the Phillips watches auction in Geneva a vintage Royal Oak Two-Tone sold for $41,000 USD setting a new record for two-tone Royal Oaks. Not even a 5402 but a 25402. h
Why no ROO GMT?
Yes, there is one Tourbillon Concept GMT for $200K+, but I am talking about a reasonably priced GMT.I could imagine something like the Diver, where instead of the 60 minute scale on the inner bezel, you could have the 24 hour scale, and make it bi-directional. Adding a 24 hour hand and allowing the local hour hand to be adjusted in 1 hour increments independently could be reasonably easy to accomplish using an add-on module just like the chronos have.I, for one, would be the first one in line to buy one. What do you think?
Breaking stem and water resistance issues only for 5402 and cal. 2121?
So I have been looking at some of the 36mm ROs, and wanted to inquire further into whether AP had similar issues with the crown breaking off with models outside of the 5402, I also read in the sticky above that AP cannot certify water resistance in the 5402 following service, does this only apply to the 5402 or other models as well? For servicing out of warranty APs, can you tell AP to do movement only services like you can with the RSC, like tell them to leave the bezel, dial, etc alone and just service the movement and restore water resistance?I haven't had a chance to put a 36mm RO on my wrist yet but I have a 6.4 wrist so I'm thinking it would be better suited to me in diameter and thickness than a ROO. Also as I am looking for something to where for the most part with button downs and sport coats, it won't cause as much issue with cuffs but would like to have something that I have to worry over on a rainy day, remove while washing my hands or suffer a broken stem every other year f
