Look what's arrived...
I've always fancied a Hercules and recently this one's come into my possession. Quite an impressive watch I must say. Really solid feel and, I hope you agree, a beautiful white dial (apologies for the iPad photo). I don't think many were made and, at the time, I think these were Breitlings biggest model coming in at 45.5mm diameter. I'm not that familiar with chronos and I'd be grateful if anyone could explain the lower middle sub dial which, unusually, has what looks like a minute hand and an hour hand. Also, when the re-set button is pushed the left subdial (24hr?) doesn't seem to zero, I wonder if it is supposed to. The main hand set consists of the usual second, minute and hours hand but there's a fourth hand with a small red arrow that seems to track the minute hand but I'm not sure of it's function. Any enlightenment will be much appreciated.
Dark Side of the Moon Collection (Live Images)
Okay, so admittedly I wasn't overly compelled to look at the new white side of the moon, which looks a bit weird in my honest opinion, during Basel this year. But Omega may have pulled it out of the hat with the new DSotM Collection, which I think look pretty darned cool! Thoughts? You can read my thoughts here
Omega Planet Ocean 8500 too thick for my taste. Looking for 2500
So I bought a Planet Ocean earlier this year for my first Omega (232.30.42.21.01.003). Now that I have had it for a few months, I just can't get past the thickness of the the case. After some research, it seems the thickness is due to the newer 8500 movement that replaced the older 2500 movement.I am wondering a couple of things. First, does anyone have direct side view comparison photo(s) available? Second, what would the model number for the aesthetically equivalent 2500 movement based watch be? Second, would anyone consider a trade? I know the 8500 movement is more expensive, but frankly, I'm more interested in a watch I enjoy wearing.(Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum, still new here at TRF)
5205 silver dial question?
A question for all 5205-001 (silver dial) owners. Does the dial look silver and shining or rather matt and grey most of the time? The photos show very grey looking dial and I don't see much sparkle in it. Is this the case in reality? I looked at both at my AD and attach the photo here. However, the watch was sealed in plastic and it is hard to tell since plastic is only semi transparent. Thanks a lot for your feed back!
