Usain Bolt is Hublot’s Newest Ambassador
Hublot has announced that Jamaican sprint star and 3 time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt has joined the ranks of the exceptional sportsmen and women who are members of the Hublot family. Bolt electrified the world with his performances at the 2008 Summer Olympics and he currently hold world records in the 100 and 200 meters, and with his teammates the 4×100 meter relay. In its statement, Hublot said that for them, Usain is not only an outstanding sportsman, but also a man with a naturally sunny disposition, who shares his gifts with humility. Like Bolt, Hublot is dedicated to the value of sharing, and is committed to sharing the company’s own success and making a contribution to support those who are less fortunate. Usain, for his part, is personally involved in a number of children’s foundations, particular in Jamaica.Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of Hublot, is very proud that Usain Bolt wears a Hublot timepiece: “It is hugely symbolic for a watchmaker to see his wat
Truth In Watch Movement Advertising And Defining Watch Caliber Origins Once And For All
Rolex currently produces in-house made movements for their entire watch collection, but that wasn't always the case. A few small parts today may still come from niche third-party Swiss suppliers. The movement of a watch is the engine inside of it which "makes it work." I understand that novices to the world of watches may not even be aware of what "watch movement" means. Watch movements are generally classified as mechanical or quartz (electronic), and are, in many ways, what draw people to purchase or desire a particular timepiece. Drawing an analogy from the world of cars, you don't necessarily buy a new vehicle simply because of the engine inside of it and its claimed performance, but because of the complete design, driving experience, and mechanical performance put together. Like car engines, when it comes to watch movements, there is no lack of topics to discuss.Today, we will be discussing a very important matter concerning watch movements: who made them, and where they come from.
Introducing The Nomos Orion 1989, Celebrating The 25th Anniversary Of The Fall Of The Berlin Wall
The α (Alpha) wound NOMOS Orion became a classic the very first day it hit the market. We’ve covered it in-depth in A Week On The Wrist before, and we’re covering it again during what seems to be a season of makeovers for a couple of NOMOS families (recall the recent True Blue dial of the NOMOS Weltzeit just last month). Here, with the unveiling of the Orion 1989, NOMOS is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. 2 OF 3 The Orion 1989 with a 33 mm case. This stainless version of the Orion comes in two sizes – 33 mm by 8.54 mm and 38 mm by 8.86 mm. The dial is a galvanized “November” gray that has a very fine eggshell-like texture thanks to diamond polishing. The hands are the simple stick, but this time gold-plated – along with eleven gold-plated, stamped hour-indices. The seconds subdial still has the circular grain to it, which along with the overall concavity of the Orion’s dial and case, giv
Why an Omega?
Can someone sell to me why I should get an Omega? Besides appearance what is great about the quality of the watch with TAG and Rolex as options why an Omega.
It's arrived! Daytona 116509 black dial!
My grail watch has landed!!! Sorry to be so excited about it but it's my most expensive watch yet and for it is so special!I wanted a chronograph to go into my collection and I got a Tudor Fast rider Blackshield but the moment I got it I regretted it. That started a thought process in my mind, I ended up giving up my 116622 blue along with the fastrider (plus cash) and ended up with imo one of the top if not the top chronograph watch!Sorry about the crap quality photo!
