Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase
It’s a rare pleasure in the price range we discuss here at worn&wound to find watches with manufacture, or in-house, movements. It’s even more rare for them to be Swiss made calibers. Well, that’s exactly what we have here with the new Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase Manufacture. For a starting price of around $3,500 one can obtain a watch that seems to defy the laws of luxury watches and be, while not inexpensive, in the accessible price range. The Slimline, of which there are several variations, is as clean as dress watches come. Simple and elegant cases with gentle curves and great finishing are topped with sapphire crystals, front and back,?reserved domed dials, applied markers and thin leaf hands. As the name suggests, the whole line maintains a low profile, making them comfortable and easy to fit under a shirt, as a dress watch must be. The Moonphase has a 42mm case, making it a touch wide, though on the wrist the watch does not feel too large due to w
A Week On The Wrist: The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph. This is a watch that is so known to many of you, it may not need much of an analysis – but this is HODINKEE and you can believe you're gonna get one. The Royal Oak Chronograph is a watch that has thousands of lovers the world over, and a few detractors, too. The ROC, as I'll call it henceforth, is something of a middle ground between two completely distinct Audemars Piguet buyers – the collectors, and, well, everyone else. The Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore families often appeal to very different people, but I'll get to that shortly. In this review, I tackle a mainstay in the AP lineup, and an interesting piece of haute horology, though one without its own in-house movement. I will look at how this 41mm column-wheel, vertical clutch chronograph wears, and if the matter of where the movement came from is even something worth noting at all. This is your HODINKEE Week On The Wrist with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chro
Intro and new/old watch
New poster here. Received this yesterday, I've been looking at these for a while. I had Ashley take a quick look at this one before I purchased it (many thanks to him). I know the second hand should be orange but I don't think the red looks bad and will probably deal with that later. I'm pleased with the look of the dial and really love the pump pushers. I guess I'll be cruising here from time to time. I've been also looking at the SM 300s but haven't seen the right example for me yet.
When it rains it pours so to speak

I happen to find one with paper, tag, but without boxes. The watch doesn't have the inner bezel engraving, should all D serie Datejust have an engraving ?
