IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph Edition Watch For Volvo Ocean Race
IWC recently announced a new version of their Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph watch that came out about two years ago. The great looking piece is probably one of my top pics from the brand at this time and now is featured in an even more sporty skin. This version is done in collection with the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012. Beyond that I guess a new watch will be made?The rear of the watch has "Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012" engraved on the back. IWC is the officially timekeeper for the boat race events. In the race IWC is also the official sponsor of the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing Team. Interesting that they sponsor the event and one of the teams.The titanium case and carbon fiber dial look good together and feel fitting with the high-end racing boats. These performance machines operate thanks to very capable sailors and seconds count when needed to start the race. AP CEO interview
Came across this interview: https://.youtube/watch?v=f1aVYJ1HOe0I find this few points made interesting: 1) He talks about the white pieces. Interestingly a full ceramic AP with bracelet could be a possibility. 2) At one point he talks about chronographs, he says one of my biggest hopes we see a lot of women wearing gold chronograph on their wrist, no need to say the name or the company <--- what watch is he talking about here? could it be the Daytona? 3)Towards the end he says that only one thing that could kill AP only 1! but he ask them to shut down the recording and he will let the audience know! What could this be? smart watches?

AP Dress Watch
So, the wife and I are shopping in Toronto on the weekend (actually looking for a new wallet for her - least I could do after getting a new watch and new strap for me....) and we come upon a large watch retailer (Royal de Versailles - HUGE selection of watches). I suggest we pop in for a few minutes to just have a look. I am actually looking for her, although she doesn't know it. She pretty much turns up her nose at all the ladies watches, so I give up and start looking for another for me...... I have expressed my dislike for the Royal Oak here before, but along with a bunch of those and some tourbillons, I see a very plain dress watch in the Audemars Piguet display area. I move closer to have a look and see that it must be a vintage piece, which I didn't think this place normally carries. Nautilus with diamond and ruby bezel
I saw these 5711/1R with diamond and ruby baguettes on the bezel at the AD.Are these collector's items for Nautilus lovers or are they just too much jewelry for mens watches? They are both available at over $100K USD each and produced in limited quantity.
