The Black Belt Watch, Only For People With Black Belts
This watch comes with a great back story. A tale of a man they called crazy. A tale of a man, who probably is crazy, but we can all love him for that. It all started with Romain Jerome and their previous 'lord & ruler,' Yvan Arpa. The watch community generally has the perception that Yvan Arpa is a bit of aneccentric. One who creates ideas that are pretty wild. Half the time the ideas work, the other times, they most surely don't. One example of a failed idea was an all rusted watch (on the outside) enclosed in a hermetically sealed glass case. The idea was that once the glass was broken, the watch inside was guaranteed to work. To make a long story short, once some wild and wealthy people bought and subsequently broke the glass, the watch did not work at all - having been totally rusted through.Other ideas do work, such as Yvan's Titanic DNA watch for Romain Jerome. The watches worked so well, that they not only saved the dying Romain Jerome brand a few years ago, but catapulted i

Rolex "Grand Prix de Monaco"
Hello guys, dont really find something about these special watches here at the Forum. It's not the same as the 24H Daytona or 24H Le Mans watches, given from Rolex to the winners, the Grand Prix de Monaco watches are, what I think, from a local dealer in Monaco given to Racing Drivers. Example:1992 for the Monaco GP, the most exiting GP in Monaco ever, Senna vs. Mansell see https://.youtube/watch?v=YsqipJ2lSZsThe were given 3 watches, Submariners in Gold, Bi Color and Steel. Not sure for what exactly, I would say fastest lap, Winner and Qualifying. Two were auctioned bevor, see:https://catalog.antiquorum.swiss/en/...13-350?page=18https://.phillips/detail/ROLEX/CH080117/126Does someone knowes more about these unique watches? Pictures, Details?Lets see what's coming....
SAVVI Rolex
How have you been Savvi w/your collection or in this hobby??Wanting to hear your creative ideas, along with your experiences as a watch enthusiast!I've been a watch enthusiast since 1990 and am lucky enough to have obtained a luxury piece or 2 along the way. Am not flush with money so my fine watch collection will never go beyond 1-3 pieces. However, I still want to play the game as I acquire/rotate and trade. I typically hold on to a piece anywhere from 5-10 yrs. but have now (I think/hope) found 1 keeper among my current 2.* I think Savvi Formal wear is on to something...they know prom/weddings are special occasions but many don't hold onto that tux. Rental car Co's./Car manufacturers same thing...have used them for necessity or Saturday play time. I've borrowed/loaned watches to/from a relative for us to have a new/fun experience. Also, have had my AD take pics of dream watches on my wrist. I'd be thrilled to rent a Rolex... seriously...just kidding. ** Please share ways you have k
Different style finish on sea-dweller clasp
I noticed that the Sea-Dweller 116600 was made with two different styles of finish on the inside of the clasp.I know that the ones made in 2014 had the sandblasted' finish and later Rolex changed to the polished finish.Anybody knows when they changed, and why?
