Maurice de Mauriac Watches Now Available With New Movement
Zurich-based watch brand Maurice de Mauriac will now begin to offer a special new movement in all of their watches which are built to accept Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movements. Sourced from Concepto (the Jacquet family) the new movements are like super 7750s.The new movements are built on a Valjoux 7750 foundation and are interchangeable with the famous workhorse from ETA. The Valjoux 7750 is actually an amazing little machine. Continually refined for something like 30-40 years, it is not only the most popular Swiss mechanical chronograph calibre in the world, but also the base for a large number of other movements. As 7750 movements are so common, specialized movements using the same architecture are valued as they are less common and often much more attractive.Using the architecture of the 7750, Concepto produces this and other movements like it. The movement is mostly in black with a lot of perlage and other polishing. It has an upgraded power reserve of about 50
Needing some help from Omega enthusiasts
I recently began the search for a new watch as I will be sending my Sub in for service and also as a reward for having a great quarter. I had three watches in mind and I've decided that out of the three, I would go for the Speedmaster. I came across a piece that I really liked, mainly because it had some gold on it. I haven't found any information about a model like this being made because I'm not really sure what to look for. My question to you is, did omega make a Speedmaster in this combination?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Next Patek: 5980 or 5164?
Hi everyone this is my first post and I've come across a difficult decision. I can't seem to decide what I would like for my next Patek: 5980 white dial or 5164. I prefer sport watches and my collection consists of a Rolex sub, AP ROC 39mm, PP 5227j, PP5712a, and PP5726a. Which of the two would you pick or should I wait to see what Patek has to offer for 2014?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PAM535 v PAM351 v PAM233
Went to the local AD to check out some Panerais. After selling my 312 which I found too too heavy, I thought I would check out the PAM535. It's a beauty. I also checked out the PAM351 and the PAM233. Both beautiful pieces but not sure if the 44m is for me though.Pics attached. Which one suits me??
Advice - Dented gmt II case
Just got my watch back from a well respected repair shop and there is a dent in the case that I have never noticed before. I'm pretty observant and know just about every scratch on my watch and truly believe that I would have noticed something like this before. Especially a dent in the case like this, I can only imagine would take a pretty hard hit to yield this kind of result. I wanted to share this with the group to see if anyone went through a similar experience or if anyone has some general advice for me and how to go about approaching the jeweller and what the best course of action would be. Thanks in advance! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
