Watches NEWS
Perpetual calendar popularity and some digressions
While out this weekend, I tried on the 26574ST. It is a lovely watch with a readable and interesting complication and the steel version is, by some standard at least, not unreasonably priced. That being the case, I'm surprised that there isn't a bit more hype around them or a more regular flow of incoming posts. The white was very nice and I would be very keen to see the blue face versionNow for digression #1:While at the AP boutique a fellow came in with what looked to be a 44mm Diver on a steel strap with a white face and no chrono. I hadn't seen one before and would be interested in any thoughts on what reference this might beDigression #2:Completely unrelated to watches, but kind of fun - on the way home our ferry was dodging some of the several hundred boats participating in the annual Around the Island yacht race. My regrets at missing out on sailing in it this year were soothed by the pouring rain that had appeared throughout the day.
First "Real" Watch: Speedmaster or Datejust
Thought this would be a great place to get some advice - saving up for my first real watch and I'm going back and forth between a Rolex DateJust and Omega Speedmaster. Here's the two I'm comparing:Ladies' Omega Speedmaster, Automatic Chronometer, Diamonds on the bezel, with the white mother of pearl dial Datejust with white gold fluted bezel, oyster dial with diamond markers, jubilee bandI have always wanted a Rolex...but I love the sportier look of the Omega...This will be a Christmas gift to myself if the finances work out in time, but interested in some pros / cons from this informed board - thanks in advance.
Now this what you can call a tractor !!

Patek stainless steel type?
I read an article Patek Philippe Nautilus vs Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. by Fratello Watches. The article states that the stainless steel used for the Nautilus and Royal Oak is a scratch magnet. Also the article states that different kind of stainless steel is being used compared to other brand's sports watches...What type of stainless steel does Patek use? 316L? I assume they aren't using 904L, which Rolex uses. Why doesn't Patek use the higher quality stainless steel, especially in a sports watch that is supposed to take a beating?
What you peep think..the bracelet yes or no?
I Don' t know if I am a fan of it... i think it looks cheap. What say you? I just put it on.Cheers.Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk
