Need some help on a gift for my mother's 60th birthday
My mom is tuning 60 and I'm looking at getting her an AP. Let me start with a little background. My mom is the hardest working person I've ever met in my life. My parents got divorced when I was 2 and my mom raised me. We lived in a 1 bedroom apartment for years while she worked full days and got her college degrees at night. She earned her bachelors and masters and now manages the OC office for one of the top 10 law firms in the US. My mother and father ended up getting remarried when I was 12 and they had two more kids. My father was a firefighter that passed away on duty 5 years ago and my mom still fully supports both of my brothers. She also watches both of my young kids when my wife needs a break (1-2x per week) even though my mom still works 50+ hours a week. I want to get her a gift for her 60th that she will enjoy for many years to come and she would never get herself. What's the standard strap vs short strap diff?
I'm looking for anyone who was had a ROO standard strap and then swap to short strap, to tell me the different in fit? I've got a diver and wear it on the fourth hole from the end. The fifth hole is too tight. I'd like the fourth hole to fit a little tighter. Now, recently another member purchased the new deployant and says with the folding mechanism, the strap fits a little tighter. However, I expressed my desire to Clearwater and they tell me they should fit the same. It seem like it would fit a bit tighter but the experts disagree and since they won't take it back I need to be sure first. So now, I'd like to know if the short strap changes the fit. Of the two straps the long side is the same but the short side is different. I would say I have regular sized wrists, I'm only looking to change the way the watch fits. vintage breitling: did i goof?
hi guys!on a recent bus trip to milan, i was passing by a window shop and saw about 15 - 20 vintage high end watches 50 + yrs old... including Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, Ulysse Nardin, Breitling, Omega, etcthe shop was in a 'non touristy' part of town, in a pretty quiet section of town actually...i was intrigued...i went inside to discover that it was actually a service center (therefore, not primarily sales oriented) and the technician there, would buy old watches from his customers and resellwell.... despite not knowing much (i am new to the watch fixation...) ... i took the chance and bought one... he told me it is a breitling self winding chrongraph from year 1960- also, gave me a 1 yr guarantee of his owni thought it was beautiful it is much nicer than the pics i'm attaching (not very talented with the camera )i paid 1200 euro for it (not at all an insignificant amount, for me) it was totally an impulsive buyshould i regret it? does it look fake? not worth the money i paid? any
